Vale John Mitchell

On behalf of the committee, it is with great sadness that the club wishes to notify members of the passing of John Mitchell.

Johnny was a life member of Knox Boronia Cricket Club, following his previous 6 years as Vice President and 2 years as Director of Cricket.

Johnny was a man of the people and was never short of making sure his favourite drinks were stocked if not the whole fridge. He was a large part of the atmosphere at the Burra and would do any thing for not only the club, but most importantly to Johnny the people who made up the club. He was part of the last 1XI premiership, for the club in 2014/15 and more recently part of both 1XI and 2XI finals series in 2023/24 and 2024/25 respectively.

Recently in February, he hosted his 50th Birthday and was delighted to see all of family, friends and very importantly to Johnny, his cricket mates at the event.

He is survived by his daughters Parker and Emily, both valued members of our Burra Family.
For those who wish to attend Johnny’s funeral, we will advise of the details once known.

Welcome Travis Nolan!
Keaney has done a Q&A with Travis so we can all get to know our newest recruit a little bit better.
Travis has come to us for 2026/27 from the California Gully Cricket Club, after moving into the local area.

Represented Emu valley cricket association in the Bendigo country week 2013/14, 2015/16 Just to name a few personal stats achievements

We cannot wait to see Travis opening in the 1XI, belting 4’s and 6’s whilst carving up opposition attacks.

Winter Cricket Semi Final!!!!
