2026 NQDBA Division 2 Pennant was hosted at Bowen Bowls Club and Wangaratta Bowls Club over the weekend.

And the winners of the inaugural Division 2 Open Pennant is Bowen Bowls Club - who now have earned the right to contest the Group Playoff for a place in the Division 2 State Pennant finals. Congratulations to Raymond Muir, Rob Rodda, Kevin Trembath, Jason Wright (s), Gordon Munro, Ashley Warland, Michael Parravacinni, Andrew Peebles (Sub), Shane Spann (s) and Wendy Coles, Ross Scanlon, Wayne Crowhurst and Mitchell Wright (s).

It was the Mitch Wright skipped team that was awarded the Ren Cantore shield as the best performing rink - having won all 7 games.

Presentations were made at the Bowen Bowls Club by NQDLBA Vice President Anita Brooker and NQDMBA Committee member Kerry Green.
We thank members from Bowen and Wangaratta who prepared their facilities and provided catering. Thank you to the umpires - including Bob Dykstra - a regular visitor to Wangaratta.

Thank you to all the bowlers who competed, and thank you to the Club administrators who took on the challenge of managing Pennant with BowlsLink.

It's that time of year and the North Queensland Pennants kick in to gear this coming Friday. Wishing all representative teams all the best over the 3 days.

Bowen Bowls Club takes a win in the Country Pennants held at Brandon Bowls Club on Saturday. A big thank you goes out to Brandon Bowls for the hospitality of their players, members and supporters making it a great day on the Green against Ayr, Wangaratta and of course Brandon. The competition was played in the Spirit of the Game and many a laugh was shared amongst players.
