Looking for a fun, active and friendly sport for your child this season? Come and join BITS Cricket Club! Cricket is a fantastic way for kids to get active, learn new skills, build confidence, make new friends and be part of a supportive club community. Whether your child is picking up a bat for the first time or already loves cricket, we welcome boys and girls of all abilities. With junior teams, great coaches and plenty of fun both on and off the field, there’s a place for everyone at BITS Cricket Club. Registrations are opening now, for the following

5 minutes with Max Bryant:

How old?
27 & have a partner and 2 dogs

How long have you played cricket for?
Since about 10 years old, rep cricket from 15 years.
I actually played rugby league up until 15 years old.

Pregame ritual?
Start the day with same breakfast, toast with banana, peanut butter & honey.
Always put the right pad on first. It works so why change it.

First Junior club?
Cudgen cricket club in far north nsw coast

Do you need to be in Brisbane as a kid or how important is the rep teams in the regional areas for a pathway?
I Travelled to Coffs Harbour which was a 4hr drive each way, looking back I feel bad but appreciate the sacrifice my parents made, especially as they worked full time, just so I could play in nsw or it was 20mins to Gold Coast.
Definitely need to bring more cricket stuff to regional areas.

Bat names?
After my dogs (cocker spaniels) - Woody and Winston

Favourite food? Steak (medium rare) and veg with pepper gravy.

Favourite player growing up?
Brendan McCallum, I actually played my 1st year with him in the big bash.
Also admired Chris Lynn & AB De Villiers

Favourite stadium to play cricket?
The Gabba - best wicket in the world to bat on then Adelaide oval.

Any superstitious game routine?
My gloves are on as soon as I reach the rope on the side of the field, I’m the first one to touch the field over the rope when getting on the field.

Scariest to face - joffra

Best spinner to face - khan

What music do you listen to before a game?
Play fresh country

Best friend in heat?
Xavier Bartlett - we have played together since I was 14.

Favourite Colour? Sky blue

Fun fact: I played footy with Owen Strange!
