Rafferty's Coast Trail run 2026! 🏖️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A couple of local Braidwood running legends, Shane Noye & finoye ditched the dirt roads for some sand, water and coastal trails, crushing the 22km and 15km events respectively at the Rafferty's coastal trails event.

If you're going to partake in some voluntary suffering, it might as well be in a beautiful place. 🌅

The course takes in the sites of beautiful Lake Macquarie and the stunning coastline of historic Catherine Hill Bay and the Munmorah State Conservation Area, (Awabakal Country).

Goldcoast Marathon 2026 🏖️🏃

Our now local, and experienced run coach, Up And Running Australia wound back the clock at the GoldCoast Half Marathon!

After being told a couple of years ago that he may never be able to run again due to a back injury, Jimmy knew that by gritting his teeth, and deligently training, he could make a come back. And did he ever!

A sub two hour half marathon is no easy feat, and he's absolutely crushed it! 🥳

Congratulations, Jimmy! It's been an absolute pleasure having you join our little run club here in Braidwood.

The question is now: When's that next 6 foot track marathon happening?! 😅

Kowen Winter Trails 2026 🏔️🏃🏃‍♀️

The Braidwood folk turned out in force for the 2026 edition of the Kowen Winter Trails 🥳.

In the Marathon, father son duo Patrick Clark & Troy Clark conquered one of the hardest marathons in Australia, with Pat taking out the win 🥇 and the 7 year old course record! 🤯

In the Half marathon, Evie crushed crushed the challenging terrain in her first ever half marathon, what an introduction to endurance running! 👊

In the 12km, the rest of the Braidwood legends, George, Lloyd, Emily, Melissa Shoemark, finoye, Shane Noye, Katie, Mechaela Shepherd & Susi, braved the frosty conditions, and the brutal Amungula climb 🏔️, to finish strong and taste that sweet finisher bacon and egg roll. 🤤
With a little furry friend joining in on the fun 🐕, hopefully earning a treat.

Fantastic work everyone! From the first timers to our kowen veterans, you all crushed it! 💪

Wollongong Tri - Super Sprint 🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Our local triathlon enjoyer, Andrew Pearce loves to test his limits in one of the hardest forms of endurance.

Whether it's a full ironman, or a super sprint, a triathlon is definitely one way to truly test your body.

And thats exactly what Andrew did...

Finishing the Wollongong Super Sprint with an overall time of 42:29, and not knowing that he had won his age group of 30-39! 💪

Congratulations Andrew! 🥳

TCS Canberra Marathon Festival 2026 🎉🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Last weekend, two local Braidwood runners, .get.fit & .22 headed to the Australian capital to take part in the Canberra Marathon festival, both competing in the half marathon event.

With stunning Canberra weather, it was a perfect day for running, and Phoebe & Kate both absolutely crushed the half marathon. 👊

There is definitely nothing more inspiring than seeing busy mum's achieve their running goals. Great work girls!! 🥳

Buffalo Stampede 2026 🦬🏔️

The Braidwood Running Goat, .clark_ has done it again! 🥈🥳

In a highly competitive field, Pat put this foot down on the accelerator, and never let off.

Pat finished the 20km Skyrace, that has 1400m of elevation gain and decent 🤯, in 1 hour and 49 minutes, just 2 minutes behind first place.

Unbelievable stuff Pat, keep crushing it 👊

Run Huskisson 2026 🏖️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Last week a few Braidwood locals swapped the country side for the coast, and ran the Huskisson Half-Marathon! 🥳

Nick, Kahla, Emily & Mel, our Monday run club regulars, all had an amazing day running the coastal paths of Huskisson, soaking in the sun and those epic running event vibes. 🌞

Great work team, you all absolutely crushed it 💪, is it time for a marathon next? 😅

The 2026 Six Foot Track Marathon 🏞️

Two weeks ago & .ebz participated in one of the oldest trail races in Australia. 🏃🏃

The Six Foot Track Marathon follows the exact same path as the walking track from The Explorer's Tree, Katoomba to Jenolan Caves. This is basically the same route that has been followed since the days of the first European explorers to the area.

The challenging 45km trail takes you on a wild adventure, from wading chest deep in the Cox's river, to climbing 1000m up and out of the Megalong Valley. It is an epic experience. ⛰️

While .ebz suffered from some severe leg cramping after halfway, stumbling over the finish line just before the 7 hour cut off, cruised the course with ease, finishing his second Six Foot Track Marathon in under 6 hours. 💪

This is one Trail race that should definitely be on everyone's bucket list. ✅

I think we're both looking forward to doing it again next year, with hopefully more friends from the ! 😅

The Annual Kowen NYRR! 🏃🏃‍♀️🌳⛰️

A favourite among us Braidwood locals, the Kowen new year resolution run is one of the best ways to start off a year of running.

With perfect running weather, .clark_, and .ebz were setup for a good day on the amazing trails of Kowen.

Patrick came flying home into second place 🥈 with a PB time in the half marathon, while Troy & Ben both had great days out, also finishing the half marathon with PB times. 🥳

We would like to thank the organisers and volunteers for putting on such a great event every six months.

We can't wait for the next one!
