With the Senior and Junior Presentation Ceremonies completed last weekend, the curtain officially drew shut to complete the 2026 season...apart from the obligatory end of season trips !
Off-field though, the work behind the scenes never stops, and we still owe you some Grand Final Day photos (sorry been a tad busy), and we have some other thank you's to give out too yet....and of course we will continue to bring you all the news as it comes to hand in preparation for Season 2027 !!
So to start with, Branxholme Wallacedale FNC would very much like to thank everyone who was involved with the setting up, cleaning up , and running of both of our presentation ceremonies.
A massive thank you goes to Elizabeth Goodman and all her helpers for decorating and setting up the room for us all on Friday night, it looked amazing, and in turn we give a big thanks to the Hamilton Exhibition and Conference Centre for allowing us to spend the night at your fantastic facility.
Through the night, we were extremely well served by the bar staff and waitresses who were just wonderful all evening, and we also wish to give a massive thank you to Bernie Grant, who was an exceptional MC for the night, and also to Woody's for what was a truly scrumptious dinner and dessert for all in attendance as well, who were very thankful and impressed.
There was then a big crew who worked hard to make sure the clubrooms looked fantastic for Sunday's Junior Presentations, who we thank dearly, big thanks too to Jace for MC'ing the day, Cam Pepper and helpers for looking after the bbq for everyone, those who brought along salads and desserts to share, and a HUGE thank you to Clancy Jordan for letting us borrow his screen and projector for the day.
Of course we must also thank the committee members for their hard work in the background to bring everything together, all the coaches and special guests who gave out the trophies, with a special thank you to all who came along to one or both sessions to support all of our players, and another big thank you to everyone who sponsored a trophy so the player's could receive them !!
Finally a big congratulations to all the players and off-field Saints who earned a trophy for the season, and also to all our Saints, both playing and not playing on what was a truly memorable and successful 2026 season.
Two premierships, one breaking a 27 year drought, the other breaking a nine year drought for the age group and one of each for footy and netty, giving us four flags in three seasons !..three Grand Finals teams, eight teams in finals, both our Seniors and A Grade coaches being named the league's coaches of the year, three players who were runners up in league best and fairest counts, one brand new team to the club, 13 teams in total on the park, with approximately 270 players taking part through the season....not bad for a town with just over 200 people in the entire postcode !
Well done to all our Saints...what a year it was !!
