We are now just over 5 weeks out from our first race in almost a year!

The works on the Barrage are nearing completion, with water then being released from further upstream, giving us our race track back as we know it!

We’re now calling for a show of interest from drivers looking to compete. This would be greatly appreciated and will help us get a rough idea of how many boats to expect across the various classes.

📅 Race weekend: October 3rd (TBC) & 4th

A reminder that this won’t be a 2-day “spectacular”, but rather two conjoined club days.

It’s been a long wait — we can’t wait to get back on the water! 🏁🔥

🏁 WE’RE ON TRACK FOR OCTOBER! 🏁

Great news! Sunwater is currently on track to have the works completed by late August, meaning we are all steam ahead for our October meeting!

The plan is to run a 2-day meeting over the October long weekend — October 3rd & 4th! 🏁🌊 (Saturday pending approval)

We’re sure everyone is itching to get back on the water and we’re looking forward to putting on a great weekend of racing and fun for everyone!

More information coming soon…

FEEL THE THUNDER! ⚡🏁

Not the kind of news we’d like to be sharing — especially after already losing a race meeting this year due to river conditions…

The Ben Anderson Barrage is set to undergo essential maintenance works, as recently announced by Sunwater.

As many know, this stretch of water is home to race meetings for the Bundaberg Powerboat Club. Due to the reduced water levels required throughout these works, racing will unfortunately be placed on hold for the time being meaning our May along with our 2 Day July meeting will not be going ahead.

We know this is disappointing for our racers, supporters, and the wider community, but this situation is unfortunately out of our control. Racing will resume once the works are complete and water levels return to a safe and suitable level.

We truly appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience during this time, and we’re looking forward to getting back out there as soon as possible.

Here with some good news!

The river is finally clearing🙌🏼

Just over 6 and a bit weeks to go until our next meet fingers crossed🤞🏼 everything should be back in shape for racing

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter long weekend, we’ll be in touch again in the next few weeks with updates for our May 31st race day

19/03/2026

Just a reminder for anyone who may have missed the original post — we hope all our Bundaberg racers and followers are doing okay during this tough time.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we’re wishing you all the best as things start to recover.

❌RACE MEETING CANCELLED ❌

As a lot of you may have already seen, the Wide Bay area has had a large amount of rainfall, with more water expected to be making its way down over the next week or so.

The photo below was the river level this morning. Even if the river levels do happen to drop before next weekend, there’s no way the water will be clear enough of debris to safely conduct a race meet.

Unfortunately this means the upcoming March 22nd meet will have to be cancelled.

Everyone’s safety always comes first, both on and off the water. Please stay safe, especially if you’re in any of the affected areas, and keep an eye on this page for updates regarding our next race meet.

From the President:

To all racers, volunteers and supporters
No decision will be made in regards to further race dates for a few weeks, so please be patient. The committee will have a meeting when we get the ok from council, Sunwater and MSQ.
Once the water recedes there is still a lot of work to be done on infrastructure repairs before we can even think about racing.

Thanks Mark.
