ACC EVENTS FOR SEPTEMBER // Cycling season has kicked off for the Alpine Cycling Club and our first events for the season are on THIS WEEKEND.

2 WEEKS TO GO!

The ACC Inverted Enduro is getting close - and it’s time to start thinking about whether you’re ready to ride UP Mystic.

On Sun, Sept 20, racers will line up at the bottom of Mystic MTB Park for a mass start with one goal: get to the top. Just you, your bike and one very tough climb.

U13 riders have their own shorter challenge, finishing around halfway up, while everyone else takes on the full ascent.

Then, once the suffering is over, enjoy an un-timed ride back down, choose your own route, take in the views and stick around for presentations and the club BBQ.

ROAD RACING IS BACK! // Cycling season kicks off with our first ACC Buffalo River Handicap for the year on Sun. Sept 13.

This 56.3 km course is a regular on our calendar, running on the 2nd weekend of each month (excl. December) and a favourite amongst members so, if you're planning to race, please register ASAP.

Rider numbers are limited to 30 and priority will be given to ACC members.

Group of 6-8 people will run across A-E grade and spread out so, if the handicap timing works, all riders should come together within the last few kilometres.
The race is suitable for novice riders as E-grade will average around 30km/h, will learn how to work together in a race situation and will potentially be chaperoned by an experienced racer.
Riders also have the option to ride to and from the race, leaving from Bright.

All racers require a minimum CLUB-level AusCycling race license.

PLACE YOUR ORDERS // Keen to get your hands on some Alpine CC kit for this summer? The Alpine CC team kit shop is now open but you MUST ORDER BEFORE SEPTEMBER 8.

All Alpine CC kit can be ordered through our Cuore store at the link below.

The store will remain open until September 8 ONLY. After that time, orders will be processed & dispatched, arriving about 6 weeks later (approx. Oct 20).

Kit available:
- Road jerseys for kids & adults - SS, LS, thermal
- MTB jerseys for adults only - SS & LS
- Bibs for kids & adults
- Race suits
- Wind vests
- Arm/leg wamers

Join us at Pioneer Park, Bright on Sat, 12 Sept for the inaugural ACC BIKE GEAR SALE - a morning of bargain hunting, bike chat and plenty of pre-loved gear.

Come along and hunt for a bargain on pre-loved bikes, bike parts and adventure goodies - or turn your unused gear into some extra cash.

STALLHOLDER REGISTRATIONS ARE OPEN

Stalls are $30 each and spaces are limited. Each stall includes space for one vehicle and one marquee, and stalls can be shared between friends or groups.

READY TO ENTER THE PAIN CAVE? //

The infamous ACC Inverted Enduro is returning to Bright - Sun, Sept 20 - and we’re just under 3 weeks away!

If you’ve ever looked at Mystic MTB Park and thought “I wonder how fast I could ride to the top…” this is your chance to find out.

And if you've raced it before, now is your chance to beat your toughest opponent - yourself!

Starting with a mass start at the bottom of Mystic, riders will tackle a designated one-way climbing route all the way to the top. It’s not about descending fast - it’s about who can suffer the best on the way up!

U13 riders will take on a shorter course, finishing around halfway up.

Once you’ve conquered the climb, take in the views, cruise back down on the trail of your choice, then stick around for presentations and the club BBQ.

ALPINE SHIRE LOCALS - LAST CHANCE TO GET YOUR MYSTIC LOCAL'S PASS (FREE FOR JUNIOR ACC MEMBERS)

If you live in the Alpine Shire and you ride at Mystic MTB Park, tomorrow is your LAST CHANCE to grab your heavily discounted Locals' Mountain Pass to access the park this summer.

The pass covers not only park entry but also First Aid, Bike Patrol, trail maintenance and trail building.

Locals' Passes will NOT BE AVAILABLE after tomorrow (August 31) and those without them will be required to purchase the full Elevation Club membership.

Junior riders who are also members of Alpine CC can their pass for FREE by emailing [email protected] for a discount code BEFORE TOMORROW!

Neither the subsidy, nor the pass, will be available after tomorrow. Don't say we didn't warn you!
