⚔️When it’s scary to jump. That is exactly when you should jump⚔️

You can live the life you have now or in 6 months you look at yourself and say ‘I’m here. I asked for this’.
The choice either way is yours and so are the consequences that follow.
-
The trick is thought that you have to step forward towards your goal. You will have to actually take the leap. No one will do it for you and while you’re waiting they will be taking your place.
No more talking. The first step is usually the hardest and scariest. But without that first step you will always stay in the same place.
-
So, chances are that you’re scared of the change that you will need to make to get what you want. But if you’re already thinking about it then it most likely is where you want to be so the fear, effort and excitement is worth it.
-
No matter what improvement or goal you have, my advice to you is to get a plan, do something today to step forward and take the jump to execute.

⚔️Here’s some advice for those going on a selection course. ⚔️
We see this all the time so hopefully it helps you when it’s your time to be tested. Remember, it will be you that will be the man in the arena and at that time, you will know if you did enough to be there.

Check out the previous selection advice posts as well.

Consider these 3 Tips:
1. Eat all that you can when you can. Seems pretty simple right? But we see countless applicants fall over from their body shutting down when on selection. The amount of calories expended vs the calories consumed on any given day is completely disproportionate. This means that you will be losing a lot of salts, minerals as well as fluids and the difference between completing that day of the selection and being sent home can come down to just 1 mouthful of food.

2. Don’t be Jack. Help your mates out. Put the team before yourself. The DS are watching every move Chances are that the will see and hear all through a variety of means. No one wants a Jack prick in the team after selection so it won’t work in your favour being selfish on the selection course. You can’t hide this trait. It’s a mindset that you are hear for the team. It’s what the DS are after in an applicant.

3. Remember…… that you asked for this. This will hurt physically and mentally. You will be getting judged on your best performance and the haters are waiting to see you fail when it may not be enough. You will experience nothing like it again. You may hate your time and think that you can’t take anymore. But remember, you put your hand up to try your yourself in the arena and it was only you that asked for this. You knew it would be tough. You’re already here so you might as well finish it.

Here’s some advice and experience for a Tactical Selection
-
Attempting a Tactical Selection course? I know that you will be preparing to get ‘the edge’ physically and mentally. The trick is to get the advice from the right people. That’s where we come in.
There are haters out there and mostly they have never done what you want to do. Remember that you wouldn’t ask a homeless guy on how to get rich.
-
Consider these top 4 tips.
1. Don’t Fvcking quit!
You made the decision in a clear mind to attempt a selection course because it was something that you wanted. So why make the reverse decision in a time of duress. It’s going to hurt. You know this already but just take it. If you’re not what the instructors are looking for then you will be told. But don’t quit!

2. Prepare your physical and mental conditioning.
Start early. No matter how fit you are, you will still wish that you started a week earlier. Your sessions need to condition you to the adversity you will face. This is also where you build mental toughness. Just like progressive overload in training, you give yourself tough but achievable challenges to your mind by pushing yourself through pain.

3. Show the best version of yourself.
This is a selection course. Not a training course. It means that you are being judged/ selected on your current abilities that you possess in the areas of aptitude, trainability, mental toughness, lateral thinking, problem solving, physical ability. A lot of people will be nervous and hide in their shell at this time. This can be fatal to your selection journey. You’re there to be tested. So show them what you’ve got.

4. Be the ultimate team player.
You will need to be the guy who is there for the team. You look after other applicants first before yourself. When the going gets tough, you are the one that grits your teeth and pushes the team forward. Tactical units are small team environments. They will be looking at your natural ability lead and desire to work for the team. Do not forget to look after your own welfare as well though. You’re no good to anyone if you find yourself on the bus back to the start point.

We have all heard “to get something that you’ve never got then you need to do something that you’ve never done”.

With this in mind, it may be the time to ask yourself honestly about what have you physically done in the last 6 months to get what you’re reaching for.
Have you done enough to effect actual change or progress to getting your goal or could you do more?

The work you need to do must have a very first step. The easiest way to create momentum is to just start. So grab a pen and write down your plan. It’s that simple. The next step will follow. Movement will create more movement.

This life is yours alone and no one will go get what you are chasing for you.
If you have a dream then you need to strive for it and to execute your plan.

Don’t let dreams stay just as dreams.

Let me tell you that the road is long and tough. It will get lonely. Once you reach your goal then the road starts again.

You might well on your way and the end isn’t yet in sight. But just because you’re not there yet doesn’t mean that you won’t ever be.
Keep going and remember that quitting won’t speed it up.

⚔️ Don’t let fear stop you⚔️

The dreams and goals you have now should excite you but frighten others that don’t understand what you’re capable of.
Don’t let their small way of thinking keep you from achieving huge things.

For you and I, this job is not just a hobby so our preparation and training to reach our end goal shouldn’t be taken as a light joke either because you and I both know that you don’t just win on the day of the test.
But rather, your position on the podium was decided by effort that you gave in the months leading up.
-
On this path your circle will change because those around you can’t keep up.
But that is the way that it is. Keep moving forward.
-
You will need to step up. You will need to be the aggressor. You will need to maintain the focus you have even more now then ever.
-
So back your mates, be true to yourself, be reliable, don’t be the team’s liability. Set the standard and maintain it.
Make the threats reconsider their recent decisions.
