Mavericks storm into finals.....
There was never a doubt that Hurricane Mavericks were a definite candidate for the finals in this summer fixture, but the team made sure to win the semi-final game most comprehensively to keep their heads high to face the finale battle.
The Mavericks beat the Peninsula CC on the 25th of February in the semi-final game which turned out to be a game for the bowlers.
Mavericks were to bowl first, and Prageeth R Seneviratne with 4 wickets and Keerthi Ratnayake with 3 wickets, stopped the visitors at 77 runs for the loss of their 10 wickets.
Mavericks won the game for the loss of five wickets in hand and sealed their fate to be in the finals in this summer fixture.
As the season comes, to an end with the most important fixture in hand, Mavericks would like to extend a huge thank you to all the well-wishers and every single soul that supported the team in any way to be raised up to the finals with confidence.

Mavericks and Semifinals; the sweetest combination in the season....
Just into their second season from the inception, Mavericks bulldozed their way into the semi- finals as the Top team of the table in the 2023/24 Summer Season. Storming into a semifinal with similar minded players who play for the spirit of the game than seeking their personal glory, would have been the perfect reward for the Mavericks so far, thus, tomorrow's semi final game marks their highest achievement in the club's books, and most anticipated game in their season so far.
Mavericks' journey to this day was not travelled on a road of comforts. slowly yet steadily, the team searched for players with mindfulness visions, rather than seeking to bring personal motivations into the team. This search for souls, were highly rewarded for the team, that clearly envisaged in this season's battle to the top. Also, the team had the wholesome well wishes from the sincere who backed this team up from their very start.
Today, The team clearly understands the challenge ahead, and ready to face with their utmost strength, to beat Peninsula CC tomorrow, on the 25th February 2024 at Ground 2 in Merchant Park in Chermside Brisbane.
Also, Mavericks would like to wish all the very best for the team, to bring the Hurricane Mavericks for the greatest glory of the team by stepping into the finals by winning the tomorrow's game!

Third comprehensive win for the season!
Mavericks once again excelled on the field by plucking out one of their most impressive wins against Peninsula Presidents XI on the 19th November, at Flimer park.
Mavericks were put to bat first, and at the drinks they scored 78 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, where Kunchana Chameera Meregngnage scored a speedy 41 runs to get the Mavericks in the front foot. the middle order displayed a brilliant batting performance including an invaluable 64 runs by Keerthi Ratnayake and supportive 34 runs by Prageeth R Seneviratne to put Mavericks at 179 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 34 overs. The last 14 overs were dominated by Mavericks where they were able to milk out 100 more runs for just for 9 wickets at the end of their 50 overs.
During the chase, the Mavericks stopped the homeboys at 199 runs to record the thumping third win. Ashan Chehara took 2 wickets that included a maiden wicket over.
With their unbeaten run, the Mavericks are seeking their fourth win today, the 3rd December at Merchant Park ground 11 against Stumps XI.

Second summer sizzle for Mavericks.
The team earned their second flag in the summer season on the 8th October, against FMB at Kinnawah park.
Batting first, Mavericks put up 206 runs on the board. The pocket rocket in the team Viraj scored another fast 30 runs with two massive sixes, and the young talent Zeel Bodar justified his call up as the opening batsmen with wisely earned 27 runs to create a better pitch for the rest of batting line up.Also Ashan Chehara added another valuable 20 runs for the board.
The Mavericks once again excelled themselves in the field, to reduce FMG batters for 168 runs. This time, the new vice captain Prageeth plucked three wickets to weaken the batting line up into a great deal, followed by Ashan’s two important wickets. Last two wickets of the opponents gave the mavericks a bit of a headache when the tail-end attempted to survive on the wicket to the drag the game as much as they could. But the experienced Mavericks Captaincy brought in our young talent Bodar, who took last two wickets in a whisk to seal the victory.
Once again, the team showed their togetherness on the field to put up their second victory for this season. With all positives from this victory, the Mavericks look forward to continue their winning streak.

Winning start to the summer season.
The Mavericks jump started their summer season with a well fought win under their new captaincy.
The captain Nadeesha won the toss and elected to bat, to put up a total of 165. Even though the start set to be a low scoring innings, the end of the match turned out to be a nail biting finish, when The veteran Ashan Chehara took the last two wickets when the visitors needed only 9 runs to win.
This win sets up a positive start for the season, with a new captaincy and several young talents with desire to play for the badge…

Mavericks recorded their first defeat for the season against Greyhounds during the third round of the winter season.
Batting first , Mavericks put a score of 202 for the loss of seven wickets. Since the team played with 8 players, they could not put up the score they expected, but Viraj and Kunchana scored two brilliant half centuries scoring 53 and 57 runs respectively.
Despite the defeat, the Mavericks remains in the top four in the ladder and will be going stronger to seek a convincing win in the fourth round.

Two in two......
The Hurricane Mavericks today (14/05/2023) showcased their the most aggressive performance so far in their short tenure in the game, by defeating the table toppers Brisbane Hawks, due to some tremendous tactical tweaks applied by the skipper and the team, just before the game and through out.
The team stepped to the game with one player short due to a sudden illness. The Mavericks leader Ashan won the toss and after considering the quick changes in the weather and the team, opted to bat first, even though the initial plan was to put the Hawks to bat after winning the toss. The Mavericks managed to score 164 runs with a sheer brilliant half-century from Kunchana , and also an aggressive 48 runs from our former skipper Viraj. The current skipper also played a real cameo to make the scoreboard a challenging one for the Hawks.
During the Reply, the skipper led the team to a convincing win with most suitable bowling and fielding changes to defend the score. This time, the spinning veteran who played his first game in this season, Keerthi (KB) plucked out 3 wickets with a brace in two consecutive balls to stop the Hawks at bay for 126 runs.
Today's performance commends a special applause for the team fielding that led to two adrenaline thumping run-outs, including one that changed the game for the good in the first over itself.

Winter is here with a fierce win..
Mavericks started their first winter season with a nail biting win against Brisbane Redbacks on the 30th April at Tingalpa.
Mavericks went out to the field this time, led by their new captain Ashan Chehara. The Mavericks batted first and scored 120 runs for ten wickets. The debutant Prabash scored 37 runs as the highest scorer for the team.
The best part of the game came into play when the Mavericks took the field to defend their challenging score. The spinning leftie Janaka Dassanayaka dismantled 4 wickets during most crucial times in the game, including the wicket on the 18th over, just after the first drinks break. Also, with the help of Ashan and Prageeth , and applaudable fielding display secured the win for the Mavericks by stopping Redbacks just for 106 runs.
The next match will be held on the 14th May against Brisbane Hawks as Mavericks eyeing on for their second win in this cold winter season.

Tantalising performance at the start of the new year!
Nail-biting second innings performance at the start of the new year saw Mavericks to a well-deserving win over Pine Rivers.
Mavericks was put to a big test when they opened the innings where the total score was confined to 110 runs, where Captain Viraj excelled again by scoring a super fast 35 runs as the highlight of the batting innings.
However, when Mavericks were out in the middle of the field, our Talisman Ashan grabbed the game by its tail and turned it into a winning performance by recording his best bowling performance of seven wickets for just 22 runs. He was profoundly supported by the bowling squad, where Kunchana, Prageeth and Keerthi Bandara grabbed one wicket each to round up Pine River's innings for just 99 runs.
This win will go down as the best victory achieved by the Mavericks so far. Also, Mavericks are highly delighted to welcome our newest members of the family, Jared, Wesley and Rajitha and wish them the very best year ahead with us!

Despite the small talk of some petty haters, Mavericks move up and high like a waving flag!!
With utmost delight, the Mavericks unveiled their first-ever jersey for the club before the last Sunday's game against Holland Park Pearsons at Ray Little Oval. Mavericks convey their heartiest gratitude to Pick Your Ride for their invaluable sponsorship in presenting the jersey.

Remarkable first win for Hurricane Mavericks...
The Mavericks set sail on their winning course at Mcpherson Park by winning a dominating victory against Keep Walking, who are at the ladder top in the division.
Batting first, the Mavericks scored a thumping 276 runs, where Hiruna Sigera smashed the first ton for the club with an impressive batting display.
The bowlers managed to confine the reply from Keep Walking to a low score of 97, thus earning a massive 179 victory, mainly with the four-wicket contribution from our captain Viraj himself for 16 runs.
