Why do they always sleep horizontally? 🤔

Some babies just naturally sleep better than others.
Temperament has a lot to do with how well your baby sleeps also.
I don’t just work with first time mums. Many of my clients are second or third time mums!
Some want to create healthy sleep habits from the start, some don’t want to repeat the same patterns they did with their first baby and others have previously had great sleepers and find themselves in uncharted territory with their new baby.
So mama, don’t beat yourself up. You’re doing a great job regardless of how well your baby is sleeping.
If you are looking for some sleep support, reach out. It’s not as scary as you think and it doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach.

Happy Mother’s Day to you all 🌸
I worked an extra night duty and even though that sounds pretty crummy, it’s still not as rough for me as if is for the mums who are spending their day in hospital today. 😔
The crew on brightened my night and I slept the day away today. The family showered me with cards and drawings and were spotted at the shops today grabbing a last minute gift and some Lego for themselves.
I’m now helping build the Lego while Rio drives his new Lego monster truck over me like I’m a mountain.
The day doesn’t have to be fancy to be perfect. I already know how lucky I am❤️

Don’t wait for someone else to treat you. Go and treat yourself. You deserve it ♥️

Anyone else guilty? 🙋♀️
Why not make a goal to prioritise your sleep this week.
💥No more death scrolling before bed.
💥Reduce caffeine and alcohol
✅ Create a wind down ritual
✅ Set a bedtime alarm
❓What habits would you like to change to support better sleep?

Every time I speak at a mother’s group session I like to take a pic of mum and their bubs (with their permission of course).
I hardly have any photos of myself with my babies when they were little, so hopefully one day these mums will look back and be happy that someone captured this moment in time for them. 💕

Guess who got a robe for Christmas?
🤣
I actually asked for it, so I’m very happy. If you feel a little forgotten this Christmas Mama, go treat yourself. This gig is hard and you deserve it. 👏

Struggling in silence and feel like you are doing it solo…. That ain’t cute. ❌❌❌
Let’s keep it real guys, parenting is haaaarrrrdddd. 🥵
Do every mum a new favour, share your struggle with them and they just might feel less alone in this season of their life.
When I became a first time Mum I found breast feeding was the most challenging hurdle for me. I expressed for about 5 weeks until finally we both just got it and then it seemed like the most simple of things. I guess we were both learning a new skill together ✅ but those five weeks really sucked at feeding time.
Second time around it was the relentless crying and having my daughter join the “no sleep club” club leaving me thinking wtf has happened here. Many times I wondered if there was actually something wrong with her neurologically. That high pitch cry is often a sign of brain irritation and she delivered it at max levels. All. The. Time.
Third time around and I’ve definitely learnt what the term “choose your battles” means and I choose to see my youngest not as wild or exhausting, but rather a little lover of life and feel like we could all learn a thing or two from this super robust and lively boy 😍
What have you found the hardest thing about becoming a new mum?
Give me all the tea!

Back at the end of October when speaking at I was lucky enough to share a session with Dr Bonnie Ong. Dr Bonnie is a Brisbane based perinatal GP. While listening to Dr Bonnie I found myself nodding along and saying YESSSS and silently cheering to everything she was saying. 👏👏
It’s so incredibly important to have a group of people who can support you and provide you with honest and trustyworthy advice and services in that first year of parenting and even beyond.
Kudos to Liz, for bringing us together. 😘
If you are looking for a perinatal GP, go check Dr Bonnie out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When you work for yourself you don’t really have Christmas parties with all of your colleagues. It’s more like a party for one, so it’s so nice to be a part of the Mother’s Connected community. 🤩
Liz, the other guest speakers and the amazing groups of women I have met through this role have all been so welcoming, inclusive and kind. ❤️
Besides supporting and empowering mums with their baby’s sleep this is one of my favourite aspects of being a sleep consultant. I’m constantly meeting new and interesting people that inspire me daily 💫
Thanks Liz for hosting another amazing Christmas celebration and letting me celebrate with you. 🎄🧑🎄
