What a special weekend for the u15s with a win in u15n1 grand final! Another man of the match performance from Micky Ramaswamy with 59 off 76 on a very tough batting pitch combined with some excellent cameos from Mehtab, Krishil and Riley helped the team manage 222 batting first. Some good batting early from the Lakes players put the Tigers under pressure, but staying calm, patient and believing the breakthroughs would come, the team managed to bowl Lakes out for 161. The pressure was relentless as all bowlers bowled well but Heath Mayor 2-20 off 11, Aarav Patel 3/7 off 7 and Sara Lalwani 2-16 off 7 were the pick of the bowlers.

The season has been a journey, but whether the cricket played was good or bad the team enjoyed the special environment they all created. The team thrived with their fitness in multiple long batting innings or long days in the field with the team completing plenty of fitness tasks like Mt Cootha runs, Murphs, stair climbs and broncos in training.

Unfortunately the u13’s went down in a close one against an impressive Lakes side. The Tigers fought hard and got off to good starts with both the bat and ball but unfortunately fielding mistakes let the side down proving once again how important fielding is. The team will take plenty of lessons out of the season and will enter the summer season well prepared and hungry to dominate. Player of the match was Aaron Jaishi with 54 and a wicket.

I am very proud of both teams and extremely thankful to all the parents for their support throughout the season.

Both TTC teams are in the grand final with dominant semi finals performances. In the u13’s the team managed to put on a huge total of 465 in their 70 overs with Samarvir Jhaji 65, Waris Bhagi 76*, Akshinder Khamb 52, Aaron Jaishi 69 and Eddie Prince 44 all putting on good scores. In the second innings Shanvitha took 4/33 whilst Harry Cooper and Ranjot Brar also took 2 wickets. Player of the Match goes to Waris Bhagi with 76* and a wicket.

In the 15s the team put on 229 with Mehtab Sandhar hitting an amazing 133 on a very tough batting track. Bowling on day 2 the Tigers managed to bowl out Wilston North for 103 with the ever reliable Eeshan Mishra taking 4-8, Aarav Patel taking 3-2 and Riley Johnston 2-12. Mehtab Sandhar was player of the match for his brilliant batting performance.

Both teams look forward to the grand final and will give it a red hot crack but can be very proud of their development and achievements so far no matter what 🙂 I know I am super proud of both groups.

The final regular round of the season was perhaps the most successful of the season for both Tigers age groups.

In the u15’s the team won the toss and chose to bowl with the view of setting themselves up to make a play for first place. Thanks to unbelieve bowling from Josh Bradford (6-19 including a double hattrick) supported by all the other bowlers, Albany Creek were bowled out for 46. After this, the team decided to bat for only 29 overs aggressively declaring only 31 runs ahead. In Albany Creeks second innings Josh was again effective with the ball taking 3 wickets, however the star of the show was Jemayne Nurse taking 5-30 off 8 overs. Albany Creek was all out for 102 needing 71 to win. Sara Lalwani 35* lead the chase as TTC finished the game 17 overs in. Player of the match was an obvious one with Josh Bradford having a game to remember.

In the u13’s skipper Aaron won the toss and choose to bowl on a tricky wicket at Noosa. Harry Cooper was the star taking 3-16 off 8 overs to help the team bowl out Noosa for 191. With the bat, all players contributed on what was definitely a tricky wicket with a slow outfield. I was impressed to see players use their strengths but also adapt their game at times to get the team over the line. Eddie Prince was man of the match with his 1-5 off 2 overs and clutch/mature 28 off 56 balls not out.

Unfortunately the second last round of the season resulted in losses but big learning opportunities for both the u13’s and 15’s. In the 15’s Eeshan Mishra was again awesome with the ball taking 4 wickets in both innings. Aarav Patel was the man of the match though with a defiant 78 and a wicket in the first innings. The team has trained really hard and bounced back extremely well yesterday. In the u13’s the Lakes first innings total of 248 proved to be too much. The team did however come out in the 2nd innings and apply themselves much better with Waris hitting 66 off 42 balls in a class knock. Also bowling tight and taking a wicket in the first innings Waris was the man of the match. A big thankyou to Brisbane Surgical Supplies for their continued support.

Last week was another awesome week for the TTC Tigers teams with both sides moving into 1st and 2nd place respectively. In the u15s the team bowled out UQ for 38 and 96 only needing to bat once to win outright. Man of the watch was Micky Ramaswamy scoring 71 off 55 balls and taking 3 crucial catches. Eeshan Mishra also reached the half century mark whilst Riley Johnston took 3 for 3.

In the u13s many contributed with the bat on day 1 but it was Eddie Prince who top scored with a brilliant 56 off 77 balls. Down on troops on day 2 the team did extremely well and player of the match was Shanvintha Malkagiri taking 3 crucial wickets for 27 off 8 overs.

Wow! What an awesome 3 days. Firstly I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the parents for their support and trust, I cherish the opportunity to run these kind of events. I have to thank the players for showing up and fiercely getting into the contest and playing some excellent cricket. It turned out to be a true test match coming down to the very last ball of day 3 with Haydan and Jude managing to survive for a draw.

Devam Shah was the man of the match with a brilliant 141 off 113 and countless brilliant catches.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat Taipans started well in the first innings on a tough day 1 wicket with Sanjot Dhaliwal hitting 50 off 158 balls and Mehtab 55 off 63. With the ball Micky was the standout with 3 for 22.

Following this the Titans were in a tricky spot at stumps 5 down before a brilliant 96 off 76 balls from Rayan Mathur got them to 233. Udit Lakkala was the standout with the ball with 3-15.

In their second innings the Taipans then hit a massive 345 on a much better day 2 and 3 track which heavily favoured batting. Devam Shah hit his 142 and Ryan Arthur batted well for 39 off 85 whilst with the ball Haydan Palmer took 4-30.

Finally in the Titans 2nd innings batting on day 3, the boys got off to a good start with many of the top order making comfortable starts. But perhaps fatigue caused brain fades for most except Jude Otway who was unbeaten on 68* off 199 balls. Eventually the team decided they weren’t going to chase the runs and managed to hang on by only one wicket with Haydan again proving extremely difficult to dismiss even with 4 fielders under the lid.

Can’t wait for the next one and more videos and coaching feedback to come in the next few days. A huge huge shoutout to Gold Crest cricket club for providing a pitch that truly offered something for every part of the game and maintained really well. What a facility down there in Newmarket :)

TTC Taipans finish the day 204 runs ahead with 1 day of play remaining. Devam Shah was the standout of the day hitting 141 off 113 whilst earlier Rayan Mathur (96 off 76 balls) helped his team get to a first innings lead. Super evenly poised for a result either way tomorrow which is super exciting!

TTC Tigers had a mixed week last week with one disappointing wash out in the u13s and a brilliant win in the u15s.

In the u15s Mehtab Sandhar 87 and Riley Johnstone 50 shone with the bat week one to get to 9/305 dec. Spin was dominate with the ball,with 7 of the 10 wickets being taken by this method. Aarav Salian had his best game with 3/9 off 10 overs earning himself the man of the match.

In the u13s the team managed to restrict Valleys week one to 295 on a fast outfield although fielding definitely needed some improvement at times. Josh Wray bowled well taking 3/39 whilst Ranjot Brar was very reliable taking 2/19 off 8 overs.

Both teams are now in 2nd place which is promising.

Very interesting situation in the test match after day 1. Mehtab and Sanjot both hit half centuries for the Taipans. In return, the Titans lost plenty of wickets early but currently only trail by 103 with Rayan Mathur batting well on 34*
