🔥 Four of the most dangerous hitters our game has seen
Four very different players…but the same presence in the box. These were the hitters you knew could change a game in a moment. From clutch home runs on the biggest stage, to the ones you simply trusted to get it done.
And I was lucky enough to see it up close — playing against some…and alongside others.
This was an era where pitchers thought twice the moment they stepped into the box…and even before that, when they were waiting on deck.

Oh I love this sight! Look at her hands - knocking knuckles anybody ❤️
You should know her.
Tanya Harding.
🥎 4× Olympian
🥉🥉🥈🥉 Olympic medallist
🇦🇺 Over 280 games for Australia
Her achievements speak for themselves — one of the most consistent and dominant pitchers our game has ever seen.
But for me, she’s more than that. I had the privilege of playing alongside her for many years… calling her a teammate and a friend. And honestly? I was still a bit of a fan girl the whole time. And I don’t think I was the only one.
Because what people don’t always see is everything she gave back to the game as well. Even while representing Australia, she continued to show up —
playing A1, training with her club, and giving back to grassroots softball. No shortcuts. No ego. Just doing the work.
💙 A teammate
🔥 A competitor
🌏 An all-time great

This one’s a special one — Joyce.
I first played against Joyce, and she was formidable. Later, I had the privilege of playing alongside her… and to this day, she remains formidable!
Joyce is one of those players you don’t forget, or shouldn't forget — not just for her ability on the field, but for the presence she carried. An icon of her time, and still someone who commands respect now.
These are the stories that deserve to be seen and remembered. Because behind every name is a legacy that helped shape the game we love today.
If you have memories, photos, or stories of Joyce, I’d love to hear them — let’s keep celebrating the people who built this sport. 💛🥎
Softball Australia
Back at these grounds after 26 years.
The last time I was here, I’d just retired and thought I’d give early mornings another crack, playing for North Shore District Softball Assn in the NSW State League. After the first weekend… I quickly realised that wasn’t for me, anymore 😳. Fast forward 26 years, and I’m back again early morning; this time helping the next generation. I was also lucky enough to watch a few of the kids in my Under 14 squad play, before I moved onto some 1:1 coaching. I had the pleasure of working with a young lad from Stealers. He put together 50 really solid swings — super impressive effort and great signs ahead. I’m really pleased with what I saw 👏. Good work mate 👊🏻

Happy Mother’s Day to all our amazing DFM Softball mums 💙
Thank you for everything you do for your kids.
I also want to personally thank you for the trust you put in me as a coach. It means a lot to be part of your kids’ journey, helping them grow not just as players, but as people.
I appreciate you more than words can say. Enjoy your day — you’ve earned it! 🌸
