Today I would like to remember my friend Ian โCamoโ Cameron.
Not only would today have been Ianโs 60th Birthday, but also his official day of retirement from Queensland Police Service
I created and will gift this remembrance board, with Ianโs original and current badge carved in Maple and mounted to Jarrah, to the Acacia Ridge Police station where he served as Officer In Charge.
May he always be remembered and never forgotten.

This desktop coin display was made for and auctioned at the recent QPS charity Hat day event.
Along with some Crime and Intelligence Command coins this particular piece amazingly sold for $1000 on the day with all proceeds going to charity.

It's been a challenging week as we mourn the loss of Ian "Camo" Cameron, one of the most kindest, caring and genuinely compassionate people that I've had the pleasure of knowing.
Vale Ian "Camo" Cameron
As the OIC at Acacia Ridge Station, his imposing demeanour and stern looks were daunting to most, but was the total opposite of the caring and compassionate person on the inside. Ian was my very first customer, and we formed a special bond over his love for policing and my work. We would catch up frequently and he eagerly anticipated his upcoming retirement in November, which sadly he never got the chance to experience.
Ian devoted his life caring for his community. A junior and senior player, life member, senior coach and club president of South's rugby union, he gave countless hours mentoring youth and changing lives, he was a true policeman who took his oath seriously and served with honour.
We lost a great man and friend, my sincere condolences go out to his family, many friends and colleagues.
Thank you for your service and friendship Ian. Rest in peace sir.
