You have to play the long game when it comes to your health & fitness journey!

The physique you want is not built overnight. No matter how much some influencers try to convince you otherwise.

You need to get clear on your goal, commit to achieving it and take action on the days you feel like it and on the days you really don’t.

Jumping between the latest challenge or diet is not going to get you sustainable results long term. Working on your mindset, educating yourself, building good habits and being consistent is and that all takes time!

Aim to make progress every day, week or month.

Find a good coach & a program you enjoy, that you can continue on long term and hold yourself accountable. Don’t rush the process and instead find a way to enjoy it.

Then and only then will you see the results you really desire.

Remember you don’t have to restrict yourself but don’t use Easter as an excuse to binge or slip back into bad eating habits.

Proud coach today, sharing one of my incredible Flourish Fitness Coaching clients progress! 😍

Adrienne and I have been working together since 24th of January 2022

…and we’re not done yet! 🔥

Weight: ⬇️ 4.7kg
Glutes: ⬇️ 9cm
Hips ⬇️ 9cm
Waist ⬇️ 8cm

Initially Adrienne started coaching with me to lose weight after having her gorgeous little girl but as we continued working together she her goals changed from not only dropping body fat but building muscle and improving her nutritional literacy and relationship with food. Fast forward to today, Adrienne trains 4 days a week at the gym doing a strength program she enjoys and has completely changed her mindset around nutrition, no longer having guilt or fear when it comes to food.

Watch this space. I’m so excited to see this 🔥 mumma continue to kill it and achieve her goals!

Losing weight just makes you lighter. It does not make you happier, stronger, have a better relationship with food or more worthy.

It’s just a number, stop staring at the scale.

✨ PROTEIN IDEAS PER 100G ✨

So many people struggle to hit their protein targets and often become overwhelmed not knowing what to eat.

The best tip I can give is keep it simple. Build your meals around your protein source. First and foremost, get your protein from whole foods over packaged convenient options, you can do this by just increasing the amount of meat you have at each meal and adding eggs, legumes, vegetables. Then use more convenient packaged options or supplement with protein powders if you need assistance hitting your targets.

WHY IS CREATING HABITS SO IMPORTANT WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR HEALTH & FITNESS JOURNEY ⬇️

Your repeated behaviours create habits both good & bad.

Habits are behaviours we perform often like scrolling Instagram, having a coffee first thing in the morning or getting takeaway every Friday on the way home from work.

You probably don’t even think about doing it anymore.

So often we convince ourselves we are a particular type of person and we will never be able to do things because "that's just who we are."

We snooze our alarm and we convince ourselves “we just aren't a morning person."

We skip our workout's and convince ourselves "we aren’t the type of person that trains."

Every behaviour you have is not “who you are.” It’s simply a habit you’ve formed over time.

You can break habits and create new ones with a little hard work, time and consistency.

Each morning you have a choice to get up or sleep in, by consistently getting up and going to the gym even when you feel tired it will start to become an automatic behaviour & overtime a habit. You’ll just get up and train whether you feel like it or not because it’s a habit.

Habits are extremely useful when motivation is low. It helps you stay consistent because you no longer need to think about doing the particular behaviour.

4 WAYS TO FEEL MORE CONFIDENT IN THE GYM TRAINING ALONE

1. Going in with a Plan. Making your workout up when you enter the gym can feel overwhelming. If you go in with a structured program showing you how to complete each exercise you are going to feel more confident in what you are doing and not feel paranoid that people are judging you.

2. Make sure you get a tour of the gym when you sign up! Even if you arrange it for your first workout day, that way you know where the basic facilities are and how the gym equipment is set out.

3. Put on your favourite gym outfit! Nothing boosts your confidence & motivation more than putting on a cute gym outfit.

4. Wear headphones and create a kick ass playlist! The best way to take your mind off the people around you is a kick ass playlist of your favourite workout music.

I started Flourish Fitness Coaching because health & fitness is my passion but I also wanted to educate & empower as many women as I could to prioritise their health and feel confident & strong AF!

I want to create a safe community for women with a personalised approach that allows women to always feel safe & supported, no matter their goals.

I have been unhappy trying every fad diet & challenge I could and still not seeing any results because I didn’t feel supported in a cookie cutter program.

I watched every YouTube video out & did every influencer workout when I started training, thinking I had to mix up all the time to see results.

I’m a qualified Fitness Coach. I have been training for 10 years and I have educated myself so you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did, feeling overwhelmed by the fitness industry.

I’m opening up 1:1 coaching spots starting 24th of January, positions are limited.

The first day, first week, first Month.

That first workout.

The first time you get up early to move your body instead of hitting snooze.

The first time you choose to cook a nutritious meal over getting takeaway.

The first time you go to bed early to get enough sleep instead of binge watching tv.

Start today, start small, put one foot in front of the other and stay consistent. You will then start building good habits and the actions that once seemed hard will become second nature.

Starting is the hardest part but being in the same place a year from now, wishing you put in the work for the change you wanted, is even harder.
