Okay so Mum just sent me this photo and I am DEAD. 🤣

Story time. Back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, my parents owned a pretty big Australian retail fashion brand called J. Jackson Jeans — loads of shops around the country, plus their own four-level factory in Surry Hills where my father, Andy Malouf, produced amazing Australian-made denim and leather fashion. The man even won FIA Fashion Awards in Australia.

So. When Jermaine Jackson came to town, he rang my father and said — why are you using my initials? They had a laugh, became mates, and next thing you know, Jermaine Jackson is hanging out in our backyard. 🤩

My father ended up becoming quite good friends with him — close enough to visit Jermaine at his home in the States, meet the family, and have an absolute time. Jermaine constantly wore the full range of J Jackson Jeans. Australian-made, designed by my father. He’s wearing one of our denim jackets in this pic. 🤯🤗🤩

I was about fourteen in this photo. The Jacksons were absolutely everywhere. Thriller had just taken over the entire planet. And I knew every single dance move. Every. Single. One. 🕺😂

Looks like I’ve always had a butt on me. Even then. Some things never change. 🍑😂
