Since 1981, Stay Upright has helped riders across Australia build the skills and confidence to enjoy the road safely.

With friendly instructors, practical courses, and training locations across multiple states, getting started is easier than you might think.

Ready to ride? Choose your state, find your course, and book your spot.

You don’t become confident and then start riding.

You start riding…
and that’s how confidence is built.

Every confident rider you admire was once nervous, awkward, and questioning themselves too.

Keep showing up. šŸ’–

It’s completely normal to be scared when you first start riding.

Most of us were.

We worried about stalling, dropping the bike, taking corners, traffic lights, and whether we belonged on a motorcycle at all.

But here’s the thing:

The goal isn’t to stay scared forever.

With practice, training, and experience, fear starts to turn into familiarity.

Familiarity turns into trust.

And trust turns into confidence.

That’s the journey most experienced riders are talking about when they say they ā€œrespectā€ their bike. šŸļøšŸ’—

A lot of riders get told:

šŸ’¬ ā€œBeing scared is good. It keeps you safe.ā€

And while there’s some truth to that… I think there’s a big difference between being scared of your motorcycle and having a healthy respect for it.

One keeps you alert.

The other can stop you from learning, growing, and enjoying riding altogether.

This is a topic I could talk about for hours, so consider this the short version. šŸ˜…

I’ll be doing a longer YouTube video soon because confidence, fear, risk, and respect are a much deeper conversation than most people realise.

What do you think?

šŸ‘‡ Have you ever gone from being scared of your bike to genuinely trusting it?

šŸļø I trust real riders more than professional reviewers.

Not because journalists are bad at what they do.

But because I want to know what happens after 10,000km.

Would you buy it again?

What surprised you?

What annoyed you?

What do you wish you’d known before buying it?

That’s the kind of information that actually helps riders make better decisions.

That’s why I built MotoMuse.

If you’ve owned a motorcycle, your experience could genuinely help the next rider avoid a mistake—or find their perfect bike.

Today I featured a review from a MotoMuse member who rides a 2016 Yamaha R3.

One of the biggest reasons I started MotoMuse was because motorcycle reviews are often dominated by journalists, influencers, or people who only spent a few hours on a bike.

Sometimes what you really want to know is:

šŸ‘‰ What’s it actually like to own?

šŸ‘‰ What surprised you?

šŸ‘‰ What do you love?

šŸ‘‰ What annoys you?

šŸ‘‰ Would you buy it again?

That’s the kind of information that helps riders make better decisions.

The Yamaha R3 continues to be one of the most recommended beginner-friendly sports bikes, and this review explains exactly why.

If you’ve owned a motorcycle, I’d love to hear about your experience too.

Your review could be the thing that helps another rider find their perfect bike.

For anyone in the Sunshine Coast region looking to get riding lessons from a female instructor, contact Jacqui!

Hi folks. I'm a Qld licensed Rider Trainer based on the Sunshine Coast and wider Gympie areas; I only work with women because I am one.

I do private lessons and can help get you ready for your next license test (I used to do testing for TMR), or can work on areas you might need to improve on. I also love helping riders who have PTSD or high anxiety. Lessons are carried out in a fun, relaxed way with no pressure.

I do require riders to hold any valid Australian rider license and a suitable, registered bike to ride. A 2hr lesson is $120, but ECFR members get $10 off. Cheers, Jac.

I was worried about holding everyone up.

I was worried that everyone else knew what they were doing and I was the only one struggling.

Don’t get me wrong—hair and makeup tips can be useful. But confidence, support, and a safe place to learn are what most new riders actually need.

Every rider starts somewhere. Every experienced rider was once the nervous beginner.

Let’s spend less time worrying about looking like a rider and more time helping people become one. šŸļøšŸ’—

POV: Your family thinks every motorcycle ride looks like a scene from an action movie… šŸ˜…

Meanwhile, you’re just out here chasing sunsets, clearing your head, and wondering whether to stop for a coffee.

Motorcycling is a lot less ā€œFast & Furiousā€ and a lot more ā€œaccidental therapy.ā€ šŸļøšŸŒ…

What’s something non-riders always assume about riding that couldn’t be further from the truth? šŸ‘‡
