MATCH REPORT || SEMI FINAL
ONZ FC has been away for the last few weeks due to injury and sickness and had to postpone or forfeit a few matches which lead to us finishing 2nd on the ladder (Technically undefeated in every game we played).
Today we versed Matu Community who is a talented side and keep possession really well.
Having not played very many games the last few weeks we decided to play a defensive game and try and get Matu on the counter. In the Qld heat the boys were told by the coach to retain energy and keep a clean sheet in the first half and the boys did that very well keeping the scores at nil all.
Second half ONZ FC applied the pressure and started to create more chances. There efforts lead to 4 goals in 20 mins. The last 10 mins fitness and injuries took a toll and ONZ having to finish the game with 9 men. Matu capitalised on that and got a conciliation penalty goal to end the match.
Finals will be played next Sunday against the winner of BRISBANE UNITED VS SYL. At perry park 3pm or 5:30pm.

We’re back to winning ways with a hard fought win against the talented Matu Community side. Early goal from Matu at the start of the game and Matu keeping majority of the possession lead us being on the back foot for majority of the first half. Second half the boys came out with more intensity and pressure which paid off securing us the win with well finished goals. Credit to our boys who dug in deep both defensively and on attack. Also credit to Matu who always show a good style of football.
