The team headed down the road to a very chilly Taree on the weekend to compete in the SEK NSW 14hr Enduro. The event was run over 2 days with 7hr 30min of racing that continued into the night on Saturday with the final 6hr 30min being run on Sunday. Although the event was over 2 days, it was counted as one continuous race with 21 pit stops, 9 of which were for fuel.
Kart #10 was driven by Mark Walker, Cooper Summers & Cooper Walvin
Kart #11 was driven by James Irwin, Olivia Summers and Dan Irwin
Approximately 90 min into the race, kart 11 suffered some engine issues. We were very fortunate to have another team lend us one of their spare engines so we could continue on in the race. Kart #11 went many laps down whilst transferring everything over to the borrowed engine, but they were determined to continue and of course keep our "always finish every race" record intact. The drama didn't end there for kart #11 with a side pod coming adrift on Sunday causing them to go down the order once again. With a never say die attitude, the team pushed on right to the end and recovered to a very admirable 7th place in their class.
All 3 drivers drove exceptionally well. James and Olivia continue to grow in confidence. Racing in such a big field was invaluable to their continued development. A massive shout out to Dan on a number of fronts. Firstly, driving amazingly for his first time in an endurance kart posting good consistent lap times all weekend. Secondly, it was great to see a father son combo in the number 11 again, a memory to cherish for sure.
Not to be outdone, kart #10 showed fantastic pace to be running in the front group in our class but unfortunately at the first fuel stop a broken starter pull cord put an end to podium potential. The problem was very unusual for such new motors and cost many laps to repair. Nevertheless, the boys pushed on, showing consistent pace to recover to a 4th place finish in class, only a handful of laps down on the next competitor. A second incident on Sunday tried to rob them of this result with the rear bar being dislodged when overtaking a slower kart. More laps lost for the repair unfortunately. All 3 drivers were exceptional all weekend. They didn't get the result they deserved but everyone still had a great time and enjoyed the racing.
Big thanks to John Summers for helping run the teams, taking control of kart #11 for the weekend. Well done to all involved, it was a great weekend indeed.

What a Weekend!
The 2 old boys (well not that old really!) headed down to Coffs Harbour Kart Club to take part in the 2025 Australian Kart Masters honouring Ian Brown. Both Mark and Dan competed in Supermax and Clubmax classes, so it was always going to be a busy weekend.
The boys started off the weekend strong with outstanding qualifying results, nabbing a Pole Position each. Dan in Clubmax and Mark in Supermax, so the scene was set for some great racing.
Results as follows: -
Supermax
Quali - 1st Mark 3rd Dan
Heat 1 - 1st Mark 2nd Dan
Heat 2 - 1st Mark 3rd Dan
Heat 3 - 1st Mark 3rd Dan
Heat 4 - 1st Mark 3rd Dan
Final - 1st Mark 3rd Dan
(final result counts)
Clubmax
Quali - 1st Dan 2nd Mark
Heat 1 - 1st Dan DNF Mark
Heat 2 - 1st Mark 2nd Dan
Heat 3 - 1st Mark 2nd Dan
Heat 4 - 1st Dan 2nd Mark
Final - 1st Mark 2nd Dan
(final result counts)
So, all in all a very impressive run for both with Mark taking the win in both classes and Dan coming away with 2nd place in Clubmax and 3rd in Supermax.
Singling out a performance on the weekend would be like admitting which one of your kids you love the most, but I am sure Mark won't mind me saying that the performances Dan put in on the weekend were nothing short of brilliant. To see Dan get the results that he has been working so hard towards was truly wonderful to watch and be a part of. Mark, you were on it and clinical all weekend and absolutely deserve the results you achieved. Well done to both of you!
Big thanks to the team for making the trek to support the boys as well! Outstanding!

Last weekend was Round 2 at the Cooloola Coast Kart Club. It was pleasing to see the big numbers from round 1 continued into decent numbers well above 100 for round 2.
It was trying weather conditions once again with the heavens opening up for a big downpour, absolutely drenching the track. Fortunately, it didn't last long and the track dried to see a mostly dry final for all.
Some podium performances from the weekend were Mark taking out the win in both Clubmax Heavy and Supermax Medium classes, setting new lap records as well, Cooper S coming in 3rd in Supermax Medium and Matt taking 3rd in Clubmax Heavy.
Cooper S crossed the line in 2nd place for Clubmax Heavy but unfortunately learnt the hard way that a transponder is required to claim the points. Other notable performances were James making great progress finishing 5th in Clubmax Medium in a quality field. Dan was just off the podium in 4th for Clubmax Heavy and Cooper W in his first race back for some 6 months finishing just off the podium in 4th in Supermax Medium. Olivia unfortunately had a DNF in the final but showed excellent pace throughout the day, constantly narrowing the gap to the front runners in her class. Zac in his 2nd TAG R outing, continued to improve his pace from the previous round. He drove a great final moving up to 5th by the finish.
The next round is just around the corner, and we look forward to another great weekend doing what we love.

2025 is well and truly off and running and the team headed off to the first meet of the year at Cooloola Coast Kart Club. It was so good to be back at Cooloola and even better to see so many supporting their first round back with a fresh new track!
The weather was a little trying with on and off showers all day Saturday. Sunday didn't disappoint with a heavy downpour first up which made for some wet qualifying for some classes, but it cleared into a beautiful day.
The team have added a few new karts over the break along with some class changes. Dan, Matt, Mark and Cooper stepped up to run 2 classes, James has moved up to Seniors (and will also do 2 classes as well soon), Olivia had already moved to Seniors and Zac has dropped a couple of strokes, moving to 2 stroke.
It is so pleasing to see the progress everyone has made. We spent some time together over the break working on race craft and technique and it definitely showed through in the performances over the weekend.
Congratulations to Olivia for winning the most improved award over the weekend judged by the officials. She was in a quality field and held her own very well. James had his first taste of Seniors and performed admirably. He drove very well and showed a fantastic level of maturity in his racing all weekend. Very proud James. Zac jumped in a new kart and engine in 2 stroke for the first time, learning as he raced and improved his times in every race. A steep learning curve indeed but it was pleasing to see him enjoying his racing again. He drove very well; now to understand the kart and engine a little more. Cooper had a great weekend, showing excellent pace and composure in both classes. Great racing Coop. Dan stepped up and raced Supermaxx as well as Clubmaxx and performed very well. He adapted to the more powerful Supermax very well and had a solid weekend. Matt also stepped up and ran 2 classes adding Supermaxx to the mix in a new chassis. He also had a great weekend of racing. Last but not least, Mark ran 2 classes as well and nailed both as usual with a win in both classes.
Big thanks to Cooper W for jumping on the spanners all day Sunday. Your help for everyone was invaluable.
Well done to everyone! We can't wait for the next round already!
Thanks to Sarah, Karah, Abby and Kev “the noise “ Davies commentary for the great photos.
