Thank you for all your beautiful messages on my last post. I haven’t had a chance to respond yet but I appreciate all the love for us and our rainbow boy 🌈💛
Today is International Bereaved Mother’s Day - a day to honour the mothers who have experienced the loss or a child or have been unable to have a child.
Being a bereaved parent is not a club anyone wants to be part of. Grieving our children is incredibly hard, often lonely and impacts every facet of the life we once had. Even 10 years on, grief lives very close to the surface.
This time last year, I was asked by the Queensland Children’s Hospital to write something for the bereaved families in the CHQ community. I thought I’d share here in case you might find comfort in these words too.
If you are part of the sucky Bereaved Parents club, I’d love you to share your child’s name below in the comments. And feel free to share my little attempt at poetry if the words resonate.
Sending all my love to you and your little love, whose essence is forever stitched into the fabric of your being 💕

Seems pretty unfathomable that today we have been living without our beloved Nicholas for a whole ten years.
A decade since we heard that delectable giggle.
A decade since Team Love was a party of five.
A decade since those squishy neck hugs, endless demands for Wiggles songs, and requests for apples and blueberries.
I was watching old videos last night and was reminded how funny he was 😆 So darn cheeky.
Yes, I wish I could know Nicholas as a 14 year old, and see the young man he’s becoming. I wish I could witness him adoring (and probably annoying) his two gorgeous brothers.
But mostly I’m just so grateful we got to love him and receive his love for four years. We were the lucky ones.
Thanks for all the rainbows and dragonflies, buddy 🌈💛
Thanks for continuing to shine your light on us ✨

Shout out to my gym friends (you know who you are) 🏋️♀️
The ones who turn up early to reserve us all mats for a popular class.
The ones who you can look over and grimace with when the squats and hovers feel like they’re never going to end - or laugh with through (my many) moments of uncoordination 😉
The ones who pre-prepare equipment for you when you’re running in hot.
The ones who have an extra hair tie when you need it - or even bring a spare pair of running shoes when you forget them 😆
The ones who you can share a chat and fresh juice with afterwards, and it makes the sweat and effort all the more worth it.
At the beginning of last year (after a good 12 months of overthinking it), I signed up for a gym membership for the first time in over 20 years. I was quickly welcomed in to the Gym Junkies WhatsApp chat, and 15 months later, I’m still going strong (literally and figuratively) - in fact, probably more consistent than ever.
Having friends at the gym has made all the difference - to my consistency, my habits and my overall enjoyment.
Here’s to the joys of being part of a crew 💕

My firstborn turned 17 over the weekend and, as they say, our children are our greatest teachers.
He has taught me so many lessons in those 17 years (not all I wanted to have to learn at the time 😉).
I was thinking today about how so many of those lessons are also relevant in business.
He has taught me about the need to surrender, and not get too attached to the outcome.
I have learned that there are many phases. The good phases don’t last forever, and neither do the bad ones. All we can do is be present to the moment we’re in.
He has shown me that passion is everything and it’s important to pay attention to what lights us up.
He has reminded me about what truly matters, and when ego is getting in the way.
He has taught me that the best course of action is to listen and hug, even when that feels hard, and it’s okay not to have all the answers.
Grateful for your big heart and generous spirit, Sam Love. So proud of you and feel so lucky to be your Mum. Thanks for giving me an education in music and your ability to fix anything, and for all the moments and lessons we’ve shared in the first 17 years. Can’t wait for all the adventures yet to come ❤️

Meeting this guy was a Bucket List moment.
It’s completely okay if you’re not familiar with him (I’m sure he won’t be offended 😉), but is the author of a number of awesome books, including Profit First - and is such a generous, humble and clever human.
Mike started the movement to “eradicate entrepreneurial poverty” by sharing the Profit First system and making business finances feel way more simple.
He’s the reason I jumped on the bandwagon as a Certified Profit First Professional and get to work alongside a community of incredible PFPs to help more business owners.
Each year we have to be recertified to continue as a PFP and I’m proud to have just successfully completed my second recertification 🥳
If you’d love to have more cash in your business in a way that feels calm and consistent, I would so love to support you. Hit me up in the DMs for how we can work together, or book in a free chat.
💙💚

Oh, hey 👋🏻
Gosh, it’s been a hot minute since I showed my face on the grid 😬 (although I hang out over on Stories most days).
Excuse me while I reintroduce myself…
Hi, I’m Annie 🤗
(Officially Anne with an e).
I’ve been married to my handsome husband for 22 years, and am Mum to three gorgeous boys - two tall teenagers in our home who are 15 and almost-17, and our forever-4 son (who died in 2016) in my heart. We also have two cheeky Cavoodles, Buddy and Bruce.
I have six amazing siblings (bloods), and the best six siblings-in-law (mudbloods) and am aunty to 21 nieces and nephews. Very soon I’m going to be a great-aunty too! 🥰
Like you probably do too, I wear a multitude of hats, but I spend most of my time:
💛 Being Chief Cook, Uber driver and therapist on the home front
💛 Hanging out with my 90yo Dad and ferrying him to appointments
💛 Doing volunteer work for the Queensland Children’s Hospital in the bereavement space
💛 And I’ve just added a Board position to the mix
I’m also super grateful that I am a Certified Profit First Mentor and Holistic Business Coach for incredible clients running serviced-based businesses. I’m really passionate about supporting these amazing humans at the heart of their business (because we don’t run businesses in a vacuum - it takes a village) and helping them feel really calm and confident in their business finances. Doing this work in the world totally lights me up and doesn’t actually feel like work (shhh, don’t tell anyone 🤫).
In my spare time, you’ll find me reading, cooking or walking energetic dogs (which, some days, feels like herding cats) at our local creek.
Whether you’re new here or have been around these parts for a while, thanks for hanging out with me. So grateful that you are here 🥰

Random musings from a bereaved Mum.
As we began 2024, I realised that this year would mark 8 years since our son died. Nicholas was 4 years old when he died.
One particular morning in January, it became important to me that I work out the exact date he would have been gone twice as long as he was alive. I worked it out (thanks Google) and typed it into my notes app.
“Nicholas was alive for 1504 days
Twice that is 3008 - 14 June 2020 (gone for as long as he was here)
He’ll have been gone for twice as long as he was alive as of 27 July 2024.“
Some days it feels surreal that Nicholas was ever on this earth. Like fairy dust ✨
But he was here. He was real and squishable and oh so loved. He made a big impact for such a short time and lived every moment of those four years. We were so so lucky to know and love him, even though it was never long enough.
You’re in so many hearts, Nicholas Love. Always and forever ❤️
