Rosetta Performance Horses

Some horses are especially hard to part with - Our beautiful Rosetta Deluxe Hit is one of them 🤎

He has sold off market to the most fabulous home with Katrina Harrison, who has bought him as a dressage and eventing prospect. He was shown successfully, he has a super jump and he moves like his breeding says he should BUT the right person asked at the right time, and we couldn’t be happier for them. Katrina actually started him under saddle and we should have known then just to leave him with her 😉

Breeders sometimes have a “keeper” tucked away in the back paddock who they’d part with for the right home. So if there’s a horse you’ve been quietly admiring, send the email or text. You never know unless you ask!

Katrina, we wish you and Deluxe all the best. We can’t wait to follow your journey and hope to see you out on course for the 2027 season 🐎✨

Nobody told Bianca she’s supposed to be a dressage horse 😂🤍 First ODE, virtually no jumping experience, and she just said “sure, why not?” So ridiculously proud of this clever little mare 🥹

When the dressage mare discovers she can jump… 😂🚀

Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia premium Mare Candidate Rosetta Blanc de Blanc (Benicio x Royal Classic x Don Crusador) completing her very first ODE in Toowoomba. After only a handful of jumping lessons and seeing a cross-country course just once before going out and jumping everything in front of her 🚀

Brave, clever, uncomplicated and talented. Exactly what we strive to breed at Rosetta. 🤍

The question is… do we tell her she’s actually a dressage horse? 😂

The next shortage might not be buyers. It might be good horses. 👀

With German warmblood foal numbers reportedly down 18% in just two years, this is a fascinating discussion about where sport horse breeding is heading.

What does the performance horse market look like in 2030 if this trend continues? Personally I think horses are going to be a lot more expensive as breeders and trainers seek not just to recoup the cost but (heaven forbid) actually make a profit.

What a lovely result for our beautiful Rosetta Blanc de Blanc & our gorgeous mare Wine Society xx (who is in foal to Revolution)

Thank you Madi Allan Dressage for not just presenting these mares, but for all that you do 🙏👏

Thanks Kaitlin Colless, HHSA & Natalie Ciappara for running the event and dedicating your time ☺️

QLD MARE PERFORMANCE TEST 🌟
Today the HHSA had the pleasure of hosting a mare classification & performance test at the stunning venue of Hazel Park, Tamborine. Two lovely thoroughbred mares were classified into the main studbook; Mazarine owned by Katrina Christensen & Wine Society owned by Carla Stanford.
Then two quality Hanoverian mares did outstanding performance tests & were awarded Premium Mare Candidates. These two mares scored well in their classification, for their paces & from the test rider today 👏🏻
Rosetta Blanc De Blanc (Benicio x Remember/Royal Classic), bred & owned by Carla Stanford, ridden by Madi Allan.
Remi Sheeza Secret (Secret x Remi Sunset Boulevard/Sandro Hit) bred by Cheryl O’Brien, owned by Georgie Cham & ridden by Matthew Lord.
Many thanks to our classifiers today, Katy Holder-Vale & Kaitlin Colless, & our test rider Natalie Ciappara.

💥 Introducing 💥
Rosetta Dolce Vita (Deep Field x Redoutes Choice x Anaaba)

🇦🇺 Australia over achieves on a global stage in Thoroughbred breeding and we have chosen to integrate this quality performance breeding following the modern Hanoverian Verband / Celle State Stud breeding model of continual refinement and integration of xx blood for sensitivity, rideability & soundness.

It will come as no surprise to those who study Warmblood pedigrees beyond the first three generations that we have chosen Belissimo M to cross with this feminine, elastic, elegant mare who conformationally describes exactly what we went looking for:

• Temperament & Rideability
• Leads from the wither (pushes uphill)
• Quickness in the hind leg
• Excellent feet and leg conformation
• A clean, well-set neck with natural elevation from the shoulder
• Quality bone while maintaining refinement

With example after example of Belissimo M crossed to refining mares in Europe to produce the pinnacle of FEI dressage horses; Remember Bella Rose? 🤔🤩 we are very keen to see what arrives for us in Spring 2026🥂

📍 Biddaddaba (SE Queensland)

🍂 The Season Ahead - Where Decisions Meet Reality 🍂

This is the time of year breeders quietly reflect
on the breeding decisions made, the risks taken and the pairings chosen months (sometimes years) ago.

And soon… we see the result 🥂

For Rosetta, this season marks a shift in increased number. Four foals due 😅 Each one the product of deliberate, considered breeding decisions, and a continued investment in carefully selected mares to shape a program built on modern type, soundness, genetic diversity, and above all rideable, sane athletes.

We’ve had a number of enquiries already, and despite the narrative of a “difficult market”… I’m not convinced.

What we’re seeing instead is a more informed buyer.
More selective. More discerning.

Clients who want to understand why a cross was made- the thinking behind it, the pedigree, the biomechanics, the long-term prospects and that’s exactly the standard we breed to 📚

Because not all breeding programs are equal - at Rosetta, mares are selected on type, conformation, pedigree, and durability.

📣 I will say it again; our mares are x-rayed before ever entering the program 📣

Because you’re not just buying a foal - you’re investing in a future athlete.

Stay tuned as we walk through each of our pairings for the season ahead and of course get in touch if you think one of them aligns with your future plans 🥂
