GREEDY PIG’S REDLCIFFE ANALYSIS – SUNDAY 19 JULY
What a great night of racing at Albion Park last night and congratulations to all connections, in particular Leonard Cain who stole the show with four winners on the night. Drive of the night went to Justin Elkins for his peach of a drive on Subtle Delight. On the flip side, Lilac Stride didn’t have much luck in running for Greedy Pig followers and will pay to follow him. There were plenty of big runs in defeat but Blacksadance and C**t Thirty One were up there, with the pair having to do it tough but stuck on well behind Cruz and Governor Jujon. Our horses Blue Moon Rising and Oyster Stride managed to fill holes in the Get Out Stakes so we can butter up again tonight.
We look at tonight’s card at Redcliffe where I’m keen on several plays.
RACE 3 6:29PM
I’m very keen on the chances of HIPSTAR (5) for Graham Dwyer and Pete McMullen. This pacer has been racing in super form and was a winner four starts back at the track defeating Burmach. While his dangers are drawn inside him, Artisitic Saint can be quite chancy when drawing the inside. I’m expecting Double or Nothing to come out of the gate tonight and Pete will just need to try and find an early position. His run last week to finish second to tearaway leader Our West Point in 1:53 was great and he looks to be racing superior to his rivals and can get the chocolates tonight.
Suggested Bet: No 5 Hipstar Win
RACE 5 7:34PM
An open race with a number of chances though I have come up with SHADY’S DELIGHT (5) for trainer/driver Trent Moffatt. The 3 Year old pacer is racing in good fashion, winning a Heat of the Marburg to Albion Park Final before having absolutely no luck in the Final. There looks to be some good speed off the front line with Risky Buzziness likely to hold top form the inside. Similarly to Hipstar, Trent can try and slot into a position early or at the very worse drift back from the start and look to get a ride into the race. He has a sharp finishing burst and with even luck, he can finish over the top
Suggested bet: no 5 Shadys Delight ew
Good luck punters!

THE GREEDY PIG’S PLAYS – SATURDAY 18 JULY
A massive night of racing is set at Headquarters tonight with the highlight of the night being the Group 2 South East Derby, the Group 3 Trotters Cup, the Listed Fleur De Lil Ladyship Stakes and a quality Listed Open Class event for the fast class.
We have identified the following plays for punters tonight:
RACE 2 BAND 4/2 PACE 2138M 5:37PM
I’m keen on the chances of LILAC FLASH (10) for Darren Weeks and Kylie Rassmussen. The Band 1 pacer gets into this race well and will appreciate the drop back in class after chasing home Open pacers C**t Thirty One and new track record holder Cruz last week where he did things wrong. These were his first two runs back from a long spell and he will strip fitter for this assignment tonight. There looks to be plenty of speed off the front row with Maretti, Midnight Man and Sole Ambition sure to fight for early supremacy and ensure a hot temp. With a soft run in transit, he will be finishing hard. Hardest to beat is Redcliffe Cup winner SOLE AMBITION (5) who is racing super well and as there is a $5K jackpot Quinella with UTAB, we will invest here as well.
Suggested Bet: No 10 Lilac Flash Eachway and Quinella 5 & 10
RACE 3 OPEN PACE 2138M 6:12PM
A super race to say the least and I’m keen on the chances of QLD Horse of the Year C**T THIRTY ONE (5) for leading trainer and driver Grant Dixon. The 33-time Albion Park winner is a model of consistency and was brave behind race favourite Cruz last start in a new track record over the sprint trip of 1660m. While the map suggests he is going to have to race outside Cruz once again, importantly, he is at his preferred 2138m trip. At this trip, he has won 20 from 32 starts and I just feel he will be too strong for Cruz tonight and can grip on. Kick him home, Queenslanders!
Suggested Bet: No 5 C**t Thirty One Win
RACE 6 SOUTH EAST DERBY 2138M 7:40PM
Like the FFA tonight, I’m sticking with the class runner in GOVERNOR JUJON (5). The Grant Dixon trained 3 year old c**t oozes class and his main dangers appears to be the fillies. He is a winner of 14 from just 19 starts and is a versatile type. He will be able to press forward from the draw and look to control the tempo of the race from outside the leader where there shouldn’t be any mid-race moves. He opened up at $1.60 earlier in the week and was well found by punters early. He may get back out to that quote later in the night with luck and we can get a nice return for our dollar.
Suggested Bet: Governor Jujon Win
RACE 10 QUALIFYING PACE 2138M 9:44PM
I’m going to suggest a bit of a throw at the stumps in the “Get Out Stakes” with two horses at around the $20-$26 mark in BLUE MOON RISING (3) and OYSTER STRIDE (9) each way. Put simply, although the favourite looks mighty hard to beat, these two horses will be thereabouts and offer good value in comparison to the $1.50 on offer for the favourite. Both horses are racing better than form reads and with the right run in transit, can feature on the podium.
Suggested Bet: No 3 Blue Moon Rising and No 9 Oyster Stride Each Way (1 x 2)
Be sure to check in with the Hound Team for their selections tomorrow.
Good luck punters!

THE GREEDY PIG’S ALBION PARK PLAYS – FRIDAY 17 JULY
It’s great to have sat back and watched the H & H Team, led by Polis Crackers and the Stag sting the bookies of late.
The Greedy Pig is back and we hope to keep the momentum going with three plays for punters tonight:
RACE 4 PACE 2138M 7:22PM
Keen to play the exotics here centred around market leaders Vienna Boy, Rocknroll Classic and Imasportsstar. All three runners are racing in great fashion with Vienna Boy (1) an impressive winner last start beating hot pot Crunch Time; Rocknroll Classic crying out to win after just going down to the gigantic Uncle Jord in quick time; and Imasportstar etching itself into the blackbook after rattling of some herculean sectionals when runner up to the smart Blacksadance. All horses are drawn well and the likely scenario looks as if Rocknroll Classic will lead and Vienna Boy sit behind it while Imasportstar can come across early and then take cover and be a threat late. Killara Kaos is drawn to follow the pegs home and you can forgive his last start effort when given a gut buster before dropping out. With a soft run on the pegs he is in with a shot for minor place money.
Suggested Bet: First 4: 1,2/1,2,3/1,2,3,8/1,2,3,8 Cost $8 for 100%
RACE 7 PACE 2138M 8:52pm
Looking for a bit of value here and I have come up with one who caught the eye last week in Gwendalion (10) on an eachway basis. The Dan Russell trained mare has really hit her straps since joining his stables and although she finished 5th last week, her run was very good when making a wide sweeping run. She had excuses the start prior when having to do too much work early and again late. Prior to this she put three straight wins together at Redcliffe. There is no doubting the favourites Black Hawk Joe’s ability but he can get up on the steel and overrace – as he did last week where he was gathered in late by Snoop Stride. I’m hoping the same scenario occurs tonight and Gendalion can sit back and smoke the pipe and come have the sitting shot on him late. At around the $15 and $3 mark, I’m keen to play on a 1 x 3 eachway basis.
Suggested Bet: No 10 Gwendalion EachWay (1 x 3)
RACE 9 2YO PACE
We will slip into the red figures here and back He’s Sweet (1) with confidence. The John Boserio trained pacer has produced two mammoth performances at his last two starts since arriving in QLD. He was tough when sitting parked and finishing runners up to Jasper and then had to do it tough when chasing home Chamonix in what could only be described as an interesting drive. He draws the pole tonight and the addition of Anthony Frisby in the sulky is a huge plus. He looks to get his chance to break through for his first QLD win.
Suggested Bet: No 1 Hes Sweet.
We hope to chip up tonight and look forward to covering a big night of Harness Racing tomorrow night.
Good luck punters!
POLI’S CRACKERS - REDCLIFFE THURSDAY 16th JULY
We had a nice start to the week on Tuesday with Sparkling Cullect being well supported from $8 to $4.60 and getting the job done for the punters. Mafuta Vautin also gave punters a great site at $17 running a nice third at good eway odds. It could have been a big day out, but let’s just say politely that Sunny Rice didn’t have a lot of luck and leave it at that.
We head back to the triangle today and there are a couple of play races to get involved in. Please also jump over and check out The Stags key plays at tonight’s metropolitan greyhound meeting at Albion Park.
Race 5 no 8 Betterthanspraying - We will start the day with a strong play on this 5yo mare. She has had 3 runs back from a break now and was a very good winner at Marburg 2 starts back when driven with a sit. She was aggressively driven at the other 2 starts to lead and didn’t find the line well and she didn’t seem to appreciate the early burn. Before her break she was competitive in much stronger races than what she line up against today.
This looks a nice race today for Narissa McMullen to punch through early and drive with a sit and I am expecting a strong burst when Betterthanspraying is asked to go.
Bet suggestion - Betterthanspraying - Win
Race 9 no 3 Hard To Hear - This looks a nice race for Hard To Hear this afternoon in what looks to be a nice drop back in class. Both 1 & 2 have limited gate speed and it looks a good chance to get aggressive early and drive Hard To Hear with some intent. He looks to have found a suitable race to get back into the winners stall today.
Bet Suggestion - Hard To Hear - Win
Race 10 no 2 Seeking Amnesty - We see the Scott Hewitt camp arrive in QLD today with a few runners on the card and also runners later in the week. I like the look of Seeking Amnesty in this race and was very keen eachway. There have been some late scratchings in this event but we will stick with the eachway play.
This 4yo mate has run fairly at recent Menagle outings but she was a very good winner at Penrith 5 runs back. If she brings that form to QLD she is right in the mix here and there was a early sprinkle of money to suggest she will be ready to go today.
Bet suggestion - Seeking Amnesty - Eachway
Good luck & good punting all!

THE STAG’S HOT HOUNDS – ALBION PARK 16 JULY 2020
Was a nice result at Rocky last evening with 2/4 saluting the judge and it was just bad luck with the other plays but we are confident we are seeing them like beach balls and turn our focus to the Albion Park greyhound meeting this evening. We have identified 2 plays for the punters.
R2 STRAIGHT TO THE CREEK FINAL 520M 6:58PM
We will dive into the tomato sauce to open proceedings and load up on no 3 Hara’s Panda for trainer Mike Stephenson. This greyhound has been in superb form at this track and trip as highlighted by his all the way victory last Thursday night in the QLD Emerging Stars event, where he carved out 30.03 on the arm. Hara’s Panda is generally bulletproof early and strikes a very kind speed map to fire to the lead here and I can’t see these running him down. Should be able to get $1.70 late and that will be good shopping.
Bet Recommendation - #3 Hara’s Panda Win
R6 RQ MASTERS SERIES HEAT 520M 8:25PM
Going to recommend a strong play on no 5 Georgie Mac here for trainer Darryl McGrath. This greyhound has had a let up since several strong performances over 395m, including a dominant 22.67 victory and a very strong 12.01 run home. This greyhound fits a very similar profile to his kennelmate Gate Code which we saw dominate over 520m on Monday night and this greyhound has again struck a kind speed map to burn forward and find the lead here. No 4 Regal Opal is the only other speed runner in the race, and she is on the comeback from a long layoff and doesn’t look to be anywhere near her top. Current trading price for Georgie Mac around $2.30-$2.40 is probably short enough and I recommend waiting for a better price closer to start time.
Bet Recommendation - #5 Georgie Mac Win
Good luck punters!

THE STAG’S HOT HOUNDS – ROCKHAMPTON 15 JULY 2020
We head north to Capricornia to find a few winners this evening at the Rocky greyhounds. We are suggesting 4 plays tonight to hopefully fill up on.
R1 MAIDEN 407M 6:51PM
We kick off proceedings with a strong eachway play on no 2 Black Magic Ryno for trainer Les Wisener. This greyhound has had 4 career starts and to be fair she hasn’t set the world on fire on paper, but several performances have been marred by interference from unsuitable draws. Her last start performance from Box 8 indicated Black Magic Ryno has very good box speed and just could not clear her rivals and was put out of business approaching the top turn. Tonight from Box 2, I expect this chaser to find the lead early and gets every chance to show its true potential. Looks a 24.60 race on paper I expect Black Magic Ryno to run to that level here with even luck.
Bet Recommendation - #2 Black Magic Ryno Eachway
R4 5TH GRADE 407M 7:55PM
We are keen on two runners here, no 6 Mexicali Jane and no 7 Talking Numbers. Mexicali Jane (6) has recently come through a strong maiden series at this track and trip and has mixed it with the likes of Barcia Bullet and last start she stamped herself as a greyhound to watch with a 24.03 victory from Box 5. Generally a very good beginner and I expect Mexicali Jane to work across and find the lead here and take some beating. Talking Numbers (7) was first up at Rockhampton last week for leading trainer Darren Taylor and brought with her some solid Victorian form. This chaser was a total forgive run last week and from box 7 I expect this chaser to follow across Mexicali Jane and get every chance to perform at her best. They look clearly the top two.
Bet Recommendation – Quinella #6 Mexicali Jane & #7 Talking Numbers
R5 4/5 GRADE 407M 8:15PM
Pretty keen to play here on no 8 Klemmer Banner at nice eachway odds (2 divs only). This chaser has had 6 local runs since relocating from NSW and had its first start over the suitable 407m trip last week when a close up 3rd behind tonight’s main rival and favourite Barcia Bullet (2). This chaser possesses very good early pace and the wide draw looks very suitable for him to burn across and find a forward position here. There is a good chance Klemmer Banner can find the lead here and it’d take a fair effort from Barcia Bullet (2) or others to run him down. At around $7-8 we are keen to play.
Bet Recommendation - #8 Klemmer Banner Eachway
R7 5TH GRADE 510M 8:55PM
No 1 On The Buses looks the bet of the night for trainer Darren Taylor. A recent addition to Rockhampton, On The Buses looks very suitably placed to land handy to the speed from Box 1 and there isn’t a greyhound in the race that can match him late with even luck. His last start performance at this track and trip from Box 8 was tragic, where he worked to 3rd and was unleashing a strong run before being stopped in his tracks when taking a run. With even luck we expect On The Buses to lands the cash and at $2.40 it looks good shopping.
Bet Recommendation - #1 On The Buses Win
Good luck punters!

Nice to see one of our followers getting a result from the QLD H&H service. Hopefully many more to come 👍👌🍻🍻
POLI’S CRACKERS -ALBION PARK TUESDAY 14th JULY
Great to be back after a nice freshen up and we are looking forward to today’s card at Albion Park. We will chime in at the back end of today’s program on a windy afternoon in Brisbane that might suit horses who get some cover during the run and this should be taken into account by punters.
Race 6 no 4 Mafuta Vautin - Keen to play here on an each way basis on Mafuta Vautin. This 9yo gelding was racing very well without luck before a freshen up and comes into today’s 2138m event after a month off. His last effort was very good although finishing 8th behind Sir Julian, he should have finished a lot closer.
There has been a sprinkle of early money for him which is a good sign that he is ready to go after a short break and at $12 I expect him to push forward and hold a spot early stalking the leaders and take his shot late.
Bet suggestion - Mafuta Vautin Eachway
Race 7 no 9 Sparking Cullect - Keen to follow up again on last weeks winner Sparking Cullect in this race. A gelding in very good form and will love the 2138m again today. Last week he was able to fire off the arm and go wire to wire in an easy win in 1.56 over the longer trip but he is a very versatile pacer. The start prior he was equally impressive when sticking on strongly from the breeze position beaten 1.5m by Outlaw Fella & Jonny White.
There looks to be good early speed and pressure on the front line and the strong Subtle Delight will inject further speed into the race in the middle stages when he goes in search of his favoured position in the breeze. He looks the danger with a drop back in class today.
This tempo should allow Sparking Cullect to poke through early from his good trailing draw and take his shot when asked by Sanderson and look to come over the top of them late.
Bet Suggestion - Sparking Cullect Eachway
Race 9 no 9 Sunny Rice - We will finish off today in the last with the Alan Donohoe trained 4yo mare. She was good last week from the breeze when 5th beaten 3m behind Blue Shard where she was tightened for room when rallying late.
This looks a nice race for her to be competitive again with a good trailing draw and she is an improving type.
Bet Suggestion - Sunny Rice Eachway
All 3 plays look good eachway odds and should race well.
Good luck and good punting!
14/07/2020
THE STAG’S HOT HOUNDS – IPSWICH 14 JULY 2020
Not a bad start to the week for the punters but it could have been very nice with any sort of luck at Albion Park last evening. We refresh and aim up at the Ipswich greyhounds this afternoon and we will launch an assault on 1 race only for the punters today.
R10 PATHWAYS 5TH GRADE 431M 6:53PM
We will aim up on two greyhounds here in no 3 Inclined ($3) and no 8 Austria’s Heidi ($8.50). The speed map is crucial and I expect both of these runners to land in front early today and it’ll be a case of who gets the breaks to come out on top. The key is just to get the staking correct to land a result for the day.
Bet Recommendation - #3 Inclined (5.5 units win) & #8 Austria’s Heidi (2 units win) at current prices.
Good luck punters!

THE STAG’S HOT HOUNDS – ALBION PARK 13 JULY 2020
The QLD H&H Team took a week off to visit the Cayman Islands on some strong investment opportunities, but we are back in town to start a fresh week and lands some cash for the punters. We tackle the Albion Park meeting this evening with 3 plays.
R4 5TH GRADE 520M 7:43PM
We will commence the night with a strong play on no 2 Gate Code for trainer Darryl McGrath. This greyhound resumes over the 520m trip for the first time in a long while (over 12 months) whilst building a very handy record over the sprint trips at this venue, including several 22.5 performances over the 395m. Gate Code looks a much more seasoned chaser to tackle the 520m trip now and he has struck a fairly moderate line-up to find out what he’s made of. I expect Gate Code to have no issues powering through along the rails early to find the lead and I can’t see anything running him down. At around the $4 mark he looks a good play.
Bet Recommendation - #2 Gate Code Win
R6 4/5 GRADE 520M 8:22PM
Very keen to play here on no 1 Techno Hornet for trainer Ray Burman. This greyhound is a seasoned campaigner now and has recently been competing well and without luck at this track and trip dealing with a run of wide box draws. Four starts ago Techno Hornet was a very good 2nd behind the promising Cyclone Arrow from box 6, clocking 30.23 in defeat. Tonight from box 1, I can see Techno Hornet getting plenty of room early as no 2 Positive Gearing likes to use the track and should be able to land 2nd or 3rd the rail at worst in a striking position to close off the race very well. A very strong greyhound who will get every possible chance here and confident he’s going well enough to beat these.
Bet Recommendation - #1 Techno Hornet Win
R7 5TH GRADE 520M 8:44PM
We will finish the night with another strong play on no 2 Sir Pantsalot for trainer Renald Attard. This chaser is arguably in career best form after putting together a 30.01 victory and two placings in 30.23 and 30.24 at this track and trip from middle and wide draws. His last start 6th placing from Box 6 here last Thursday night was a total write off and to be fair he should have bolted in. Tonight, with a nice low draw, I expect Sir Pantsalot to land nice and handy to the speed here and he will take a power of beating with even luck.
Bet Recommendation - #2 Sir Pantsalot Won
Good luck punters!

THE GREEDY PIG’S ALBION PARK ANALYSIS – TUESDAY 7 JULY
We return to Headquarters for a customary Tuesday meeting. Again, we are joined by a number of visiting NSW pacers which makes lining up the form somewhat tricky. Nonetheless, The Greedy Pig is keen to play on the following races:
RACE 2 2YO MAIDEN PACE 1660M 1:52PM
Keen to kick of proceedings with NONE GRATER (1) for Narissa McMullen who looks a big improver from the gate. The maiden pacer has really come back nicely in his first two runs this prep. This was highlighted when he won a trial in 1:58.3 and then was being placed at his next start and unlucky in his most recent. Two starts back, he settled back in the field and chased home nicely to just go under behind Sherbets Choice. On this particular occasion he beat home My Ultimate Clippar who won well last week. In that same race, None Grater had absolutely zero luck and didn’t see clear air. Aided from the plumb draw today, he looks to have good holding speed and has options to either hold top or trail the leader and get every chance.
Suggested Bet: No 1 None Grater Win
RACE 5 NR54-58 PACE 2138M 3:47PM
Keen on the chances of BETTERTHANIDEAL (6) for trainer Darren Weeks and young driver Angus Garrard. He backs up after racing in a Qualifier on Saturday night where he really caught the eye to dash home to be beaten just 6m to the impressive Mohs Em Down in 1:56.8 for the 2138m. Although he is drawn off the track, the versatile pacer can be taken back off the arm and saved for one run at them. He is a winner over the trip and has won two of his past four starts and can get the cash today.
Suggested Bet: No 6 Betterthanideal Win
RACE 6 NR58-62 PACE 1660M 4:22PM
My best bet of the day comes up in this race with visiting NSW pacer CRUNCH TIME (9) for Rickie Alchin. The 3 Year Old gelding has strong form in Sydney where he chased home some handy types, including third to the Group 1 winning Wolf Stride two starts back in 1:52.8. The runner up in this particular race was Mohs Her Down who won well in a qualifier on Saturday night. He had a look at the track in a recent trial where he was super impressive, winning a trial in 1:57 and home in a sizzling 27.9 and 27.2 http://www.harness.org.au/racing/fields/race-fields/?mc=AP300620N . There looks to be some good front row speed here and he follows out a good beginner. I can see this pacer settling closer to the speed and he will be able to unleash some sharp closing sectionals. He should be winning today and will look to target next week’s Group 2 South QLD Derby. Keen.
Suggested Bet: No 9 Crunch Time Win (Best Bet)
RACE 8 NR49-54 PACE 2200M 2:03PM
Despite being unplaced in his 7 most recent outings, BODHI TREE (1) ticks a lot of boxes here. The Peter Greig trained and driven pacer is a good gate speed horse, draws the ace and can punch out and look to dictate terms in front. He is a Band 1 pacer and is going better than his numerical form reads. His last win came back in December last year when able to lead throughout in 1.56 over the same trip. Importantly, this was the last time the pacer had led and he got the job done in good fashion. He has won 23 starts from 96 starts on the track and while he is getting on in age now, with the beaut draw he can get back in the winner’s circle once more.
Suggested Bet: No 1 Bodhi Tree Win
