NEW CLASS ALERT: Monday Cardio & Core is Bursting at the Seams! 📢

You asked, we listened! (And by "listened," we mean we heard your collective voices).

Our Monday cardio and core session has been absolutely buzzing lately. To make sure everyone gets their heart-rates elevated and plank holds, we’re trialling a new 5:00pm time slot for 4 weeks!

If the energy stays high—and we all survive the core burners—we’ll make it a permanent fixture on the schedule 🏃‍♂️🔥

🗓️ THE DETAILS:
When: Monday @ 5:00pm

Duration: 4-week trial starting 22nd June

Capacity: Strictly 12 spots per session (more room for broad jumps, less room for excuses)

Spaces fill up fast! Don’t miss your chance to keep that momentum rolling, burn off the weekend, and discover muscles you forgot existed 😉

We sat down with our March winner to find out what makes them tick (and what they eat when nobody’s watching).

Check out the Q&A below!

▪️Time served at The Shed:
I joined in November 2025. But I did have a few stops and starts due to public holidays.

▪️What motivated you to start training here?
Growing older!! That did not mean, growing wider, getting heavier, becoming LESS active and more inflexible! A group of friends were having a good time getting fit and socialising and recommended that I join! DONE! 🙂

▪️Vision 2026 & beyond:
Building up a bit of endurance, muscle, flexibility and have a bit of fun interacting with people... with a sprinkling of eating, drinking and being merry.

▪️The "I actually enjoy this" move:
Chest and core exercises are GREAT... legs and lunges causes a great deal of OUCH!

▪️The Post-Shed Refuel:
Eggs on toast... or sometimes Greek yogurt with fruit and honey.

▪️Outside of The Shed...
I am trying to get outside more...!! Like walking, beaching, exploring, catching up with people over coffees, food & drink!!

Once I get fitter, I'll update my list! 😉

The training wheels are officially off!

Huge congrats to Miller for surviving the early start and crushing, his first official coaching session.

As you can see from the photo, the 6 AM crew is sporting that classic "I’m glad that’s over but I feel amazing" post-workout glow.

Ready to trade your snooze button for some Thursday Hybrid action? Book your spot for next week and let’s show Miller exactly what this early morning mob is made of!

Introducing Miller our Thursday 6am Group Fitness Trainer 💪

Miller has spent most of his life involved in gyms and competitive sport with 50 years of experience in training and physical activity, from which he has gained a strong understanding of movement, strength, and training safely at all stages of life.

He is currently completing his Certificate IV in Fitness.

As a senior himself, Miller understands how the body changes over time and the challenges that can come with it. He understands the physical changes that come with ageing and continues to learn how to manage them, helping others stay active and keep moving forward.

His likes to focus on functional, hybrid-style training that develops strength, balance, mobility, and overall fitness.

He has a strong interest in working with mature clients, helping them improve movement, build confidence, and continue training safely at their own pace.

Having previously owned a gym, Miller brings strong experience working with groups and creating a relaxed training environment.

He believes training is not just about the physical side, but also the camaraderie and friendships built along the way. Seeing people achieve goals they didn’t think were possible is what he enjoys most and continues to drive his passion for helping others.

🌟 Supporting Eamonn’s Journey 🌟

Shelly and Con have been a vital part of our community since 2020. They are always the first to offer support to others; now, it’s our turn to stand with them.

As many of you know, their son Eamonn is a bright, determined young man navigating life with significant disabilities. To stay connected to his world—attending therapy, reaching medical appointments, and simply being part of the community—a specialized, wheelchair-accessible vehicle isn't just a convenience; it is his lifeline.

For years, the family’s trusted VW Caddy made these daily essentials possible. However, after 212,000 km, the vehicle has finally reached the end of its life, leaving them without reliable or safe transport.

The Path Forward - there is good news: Shelly and Con have secured government approval of $44,500 to cover the specialised wheelchair conversion. However, this funding does not cover the cost of the vehicle itself. A suitable new base vehicle, like a Kia Carnival, costs approximately $80,000—a significant hurdle for any family to face alone.

We want to ensure Eamonn continues to thrive, stay active, and reach his full potential. By coming together, we can ease this financial weight and get Eamonn back on the road toward his goals.

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a genuine difference in Eamonn’s daily life.

📣📣 PUBLIC HOLIDAY MONDAY 4TH MAY

Good news, legends! Since it’s a public holiday, we are pushing the start button exactly one hour later than usual.

That’s right—you get a full 60 minutes of extra sleep-ins, guilt-free horizontal time, or staring at the ceiling wondering why you still woke up at 5:00 AM anyway.

The Game Plan:
7:00 AM: We hit the session.
8:10 AM: We hit the breakfast table.

Consider that extra hour of rest your "pre-workout" and that post-gym breakfast your "participation trophy."

See you at 7:00 AM to earn that coffee! ☕🍳💪

They Came. They Saw. They Refused to Quit.

We tried to tire them out, but clearly, we failed. Help us celebrate the people who have spent more time at the gym lately than they have on their own couches:

The 300 Club - Vicki W: Is it a hobby or an obsession? At 300+ sessions, we’ve stopped asking. We’re just impressed.

The 200 Club - Jen K, Zara, Michael, Sam & Sheila: These five have officially crossed the 200-session mark. That’s enough burpees to power a small village, or at least enough to ensure they never have to help a friend move house ever again because "oops, my legs are dead."

The Centurions - Jacqui, Sara & George: They just knocked over their first 100 sessions. You know what they say—the first 100 are the hardest, and the next 100 are… well, still hard, but you’ll look better doing them.

Give them a high-five (or a gentle pat on the back if they can’t lift their arms). Absolute legends!

Great work, team! See you at the next session (because we know you’ll be there).

Big love

The Shed Team 💪

March's Crankt Award Winner: Geoff! 🤩

Consistency is King! 👑

By sticking to his twice weekly sessions, Geoff has officially proven that showing up is half the battle.

While some people think fitness is just about lifting the heaviest thing in the room until your face turns purple, Geoff is proving otherwise. He’s been focusing on the long game, and the results speak for themselves! 📈

He’s officially traded in the "stiff-as-a-board" life for some awesome flexibility and mobility gains, plus boosting his strength.

Honestly, if he gets any more mobile, we’re going to find him folded into a complex yoga pose in the corner of the gym just for fun! 🧘‍♂️🤸‍♂️ Watchout Wendy, he might just show up to yoga on Thursday evenings...

Stay committed, Geoff! We love your energy, your hard work, and the wonderful vibes you bring to the crew every single session. Keep showing us how it's done.

Keep bending, lifting, and winning, Geoff! 👏👏

Big love
