Testing out the K6 Pickleball Session Manager app at last nights Intermediate+ pickleball session at Wellington Point.

A few little hiccups to be ironed out, but overall, it worked pretty good.

FNL - Friday Night League. Redlands Pickleball Club will be hosting a Friday Night League which will be a fun, tournament-style session and have extended the invitation to our players at Brisbane Pickleball Club. FNL is a DUPR-rated session (same as AMC for those of you who have been competing) designed to create competitive and enjoyable matches by grouping players with others of a similar level. Players who opt in each week will be placed on court with players around their current rating, meaning every Friday night should deliver great games and plenty of close contests. FNL operates as a 10 week league format with players able to opt in or out each week depending on availability:

Hi Everyone, we are holding a pop up session for Mixed Doubles on Sunday 12th April at 3 pm for our club members who would like to get some mixed doubles playing time in with their chosen partner for the Inter-Club next Sunday or if you just feel like some mixed play. Please note that you need to join up with a partner for this session.

Sometimes in pickleball, the nerves and antsiness of a slow dinking rally get the best of you, and suddenly you’re making decisions you know you shouldn’t. We’ve all been there — you get a ball that absolutely should not be sped up, yet you pull the trigger anyway… and it ends exactly how you’d expect. You miss in the net. You launch it long. Or your opponent counterattacks and ends the point before you can blink. What matters is learning from these mistakes. Staying patient. Trusting that a better ball will come — or that your opponent will be the one to speed up at the wrong time first. Because more often than not, the player who waits for the right opportunity ends up winning the rally. Just do your best to breathe, settle in, and recognize that you don’t need to force it. When someone returns a ball to you with a heavy slice, hitting topspin with your normal swing is likely to result in what you saw here. Instead, because the ball is spinning quickly backwards, and you are adding even more rotation to it with your topspin, the ball will want to pull down lower than usual. To counter this, you have to hit underneath the ball a little more than you usually would. This lifts the ball up and over the net. How do you know when someone slices it? Watch for a high-to-low motion on their swing. 2025 Brisbane Bayside Pickleball Club Christmas Party

On Sunday, 30 November, we held our 2025 Pickleball Christmas Party combined with our second anniversary as an incorporated pickleball club.

What a fantastic day with around 110 players coming together to enjoy the event!! The weather, though hot, couldn’t have been better. We had people queuing for game after game of pickleball on all courts.

A big shout out to one of our awesome club sponsors NIUPIPO AUSTRALIA for all the fantastic giveaway merchandise - shirts / hats / pickleball bags / cooling towels and of course all the paddles!!

Lunch was delicious - Thanks to The Tasty Pocket Greek Food Truck. The food was outstanding.
