EXHIBITION OF S.P.E.E.D. 11/02/2026

Sometimes, Trail Running just delights and confounds us at the TR2032 Campaign in equal measure. Bringing trail running to the Winter Olympics in such a unique way. Creatives are so cool!

The Exhibition of S.P.E.E.D. (Mostra di Velocità) is a collaboration between Mental Athletic and All Conditions Gear (ACG) that radically inverts the norms of ultra-trail racing, transforming Spazio Maiocchi into a closed-loop wild landscape.

Over three days, 26 international trail running athletes from Mental Athletic’s network and the ACG Racing Department network, will run the same 150-meter looped off-road course hundreds of times across three escalating distances: 15 kilometers on day one, 50 kilometers on day two, and 100 kilometers on day three (666 laps, “The Devil’s Loop”). What a day at the finish of the Vertical KM race in Canfranc at the !Thrilled to catch up with the World Athletics team to talk about the Trail Running 2032 campaign.
The energy here is palpable, showcasing the immense potential of our sport. World Athletics plays a crucial role, providing a global framework and championship structure (like the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships) that is absolutely essential for legitimacy, athlete safety, anti-doping compliance (WADA), and securing the media and sponsorship attention needed for massive growth.

The journey to the Olympics requires a significant scale up. The 2032 campaign represents the dedicated effort to meet the rigorous standards of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This means:
• Widespread Global Appeal: Demonstrating popularity across diverse regions and demographics.
• Standardised Formats: Defining competitive, TV-friendly race distances and formats.
• Robust Governance: Ensuring clean sport and professional organisation at every level.
The passion for trail running is undeniable, now we need to show the world our sport deserves a place on the Olympic stage.

Trail Festival News !!!

Today is the day where we officially launch our Trail Running 2032 bid for inclusion in the Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032.

At 3pm today we will tell you all about the journey TRAQ started several years ago to get us to this stage. It’s been a long journey, and we are not even half way there yet, you could say it’s an Ultra marathon in itself.

Today Mike Duggan former TRAQ President and now TR32 Campaign Co-ordinator and ITRA - International Trail Running Association board member will explain all about the bid and where we are currently at.

He will explain:
- Why this TR2032 Campaign is important?
- What the 5 pillars which are the foundation of the campaign are (community, sustainability, inclusivity, information and performance)
- Where the TR2032 campaign is up to now (we call these our Checkpoints)
- Will launch the TR2032 Campaign Dossier
- Talk about Mountain and Trail Running research that we here in Brisbane are leading the way on; and
- Launch the Legacy Trail Project

There will also be time for Questions from the attendees about the campaign and thoughts on its importance to the trail running community, sl have a good think of what you want to ask.

Trail running 2032 members will also be surveying the crowd during the day asking a series of questions, so think what your answers might be.

- What is your favourite trail to run on?
- Why is this your favourite trail?
- Is there a trail story you would be happy to tell about your memorable experiences on this trail?
