βοΈπ SYDNEY TOUR 2024 βοΈπ
Incredibly grateful to have taken this wonderful group of 15 young men to Sydney over the last week. This was the first tour Iβve run, and it was a massive success - thanks to all involved for making it happen! Jason & Paul - your level of coaching and expertise you shared with the boys, and the learnings that showed as the week progressed, was just fantastic to witness.
Brendan Lyon of Lyon Cricket, Chris Melville from Warringah Cricket Club, Nick Bertus from The Hills Cricket Academy. This wouldnβt have happened without your immense support! Thank you for your genuine passion that you show for junior cricket.
From driving ranges and beaches, to washed out BBL games & indoor net sessions - the week had it all. Despite the weather, we were fortunate enough to get 3 quality games of cricket in!
Boys, thank you for representing Jack Doyle Cricket in such an amazing and positive light - bring on more tours moving forward! Iβm sure I speak on behalf of all - but plenty of lifelong memories and friendships have been made, that I, and the group of players will cherish forever!
To the parents of the boys - thank you for all of your support in trusting us running this tour for a week. The boys are a credit to you all!

Game 1 vs Lyon Cricket. After 2 days of heavy rain, we were incredibly fortunate to get on at Warringah Cricket Club yesterday, after a delayed start due to a wet outfield. Serious effort by the ground staff and Warringah CC - who went out of their way to ensure play could happen. The boys bowled from one end to make play possible, and play was reduced from a 50 over to a 35 over game.
Lyon Cricket batted terrific, putting on a great display of top order batting. All of the top 4 batsman retired, with scores of 40+. Lyon Cricket finished with a total score of 240 off their 35 overs, after a great batting performance. Tom Stallard the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets.
JD Cricket batted positively to start, but were quickly pinned back by the Lyon bowlers. 2 absolute screamers in the field, saw a couple of our boys depart. JD Cricket finished 13/160 off the 35 overs. Austin Tsingos the pick of the batters with 36. Will Miles also had a handy contribution of 30* at the end of the innings - including a switch hit for 6 (which had players from both sides in awe!).
Game 2 today - letβs see how we go π
Massive thank you to Chris (Warringah CC President), Brendan Lyon, ground staff, coaches, players and parents for making this happen. The boys had a great feed and played on a beautiful ground first up for game 1.
Jack

π Brisbane Heat opening batsman Josh Brown joined us yesterday for our t20 academy! The boys were put through their paces, working on all things power hitting & strike rotation. Josh was fantastic with the boys, sharing some of his knowledge and experience. Itβs not every day you get to learn from one of the current biggest hitters in the game! π³π
Massive thank you again to Redcliffe City Cyclones & Peninsula Cricket Club for the elite facilities we have access to. Thanks also to Wayne, Charles & Calum for your coaching - very much appreciated.
Looking forward to welcoming Josh back again, great person to listen to and learn from.

ππ Pretty cool getting to meet and listen to Nathan Lyon speak last week! Awesome effort for him to come up to Brisbane at late notice the morning of, after Brad Haddin fell ill and couldnβt attend.
Itβs not every day that you get to sit and listen to one of the best spin bowlers in the world speak. Very grateful for the opportunities Iβve had since being part of the Bayside Pirates. Gaz spoke all things cricket; his recovery, career, bazball etc. Very awesome insight into his life as an Australian cricketer! Certainly a day I wonβt forget ππ
