🏟️ BMTA Venue & Lighting Update 💡🌱
It has been a huge off season for the BMTA team, with plenty happening behind the scenes to ensure we're ready to welcome more than 460 teams every week to Australia's best touch football facility.
Guided by our Strategic Plan, here's what we've been working on:
💡 New Venue Lighting
Our major lighting upgrade is almost complete, with taller light poles now installed across the venue. The new system provides more consistent lighting while significantly reducing glare from the previous shorter poles.
🌱 All 7 Fields Oversown
For the first time, every one of our seven fields has received a full rye grass oversow. This has been a massive effort by our grounds team, and we're thrilled with the playing surfaces heading into the season.
🤖 Robot Linemarker Arrives
Our brand new robot linemarker has joined the team! This exciting addition means more accurate field markings, more frequent line marking and an even better playing experience for everyone.
🟡 Referee Room Improvements
We've completed upgrades to our referee room to ensure it remains a safe, welcoming and professional space for our officials, helping them deliver the best possible experience on the field each week.
🌧️ Improved Drainage
Drainage improvements have also been made in conjunction with the light pole project to further strengthen the venue's ability to recover quickly following wet weather, helping us get everyone back playing sooner after rain.
⚠️ A quick note about Field 1 lighting...
During the first week of the season, you'll notice a temporary lighting tower in place on Field 1. While the rest of the lighting upgrade has been completed, the final Field 1 light pole has been slightly delayed following a footing redesign to ensure the new infrastructure does not impact important underground drainage.
The temporary tower will ensure the field remains playable while this final stage is completed. We appreciate your patience as we take the time to make sure the project delivers the best long term outcome for our venue.
We can't wait to see everyone back on the fields. Here's to another fantastic season at BMTA! 💙❤️
