Elka 50 games

Elka joined the UQ QAFLW program in 2023 from Rugby 7s and slotted straight into the senior forward line, where she provided a consistent triple threat — high endurance, lightning speed and an ability to impact the scoreboard. She reaped the rewards of her hard work by winning UQ’s QAFLW Seniors leading goal kicker in her 2nd season, but it’s not just her on-field efforts that have been acknowledged. As winner of the Bill Bowness Award for excelling both on the field and in academic excellence in her studies of mechatronics engineering, Elka epitomises the UQ Red Lions’ tag as the ‘Home of the smart footballer’.

Elka was elevated to joint captain this year, rounding out the enormous impact she’s had on this football program — both on and off the field.

The North lads stamped their authority on the league with a percentage-boosting win over Narangba.

The South boys struggled after a long trip to a strong Beenleigh outfit.
