Congratulations to all of our beautiful dancers, from our youngest Junior Extension students through to our Full-Time dancers, who took to the stage for Queensland National Ballet School’s 2026 Showcase.

What a spectacular evening of dance, artistry and passion. Watching every level of our school come together on one stage and seeing the progression, dedication and growth of our dancers was incredibly special.

This is where training meets artistry.
Where technique becomes expression.
Where confidence grows.
And where artists are born.

We are so incredibly proud of each and every dancer who stepped onto that stage and shared a piece of themselves with our audience.

FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENT 🩰✨

We are so thrilled to announce another incredible addition to the QNB faculty — Rafaela Morel Rafaela Morel 🇧🇷🇦🇺

Brazilian-trained, Rafaela is a professional ballet dancer, ballet teacher and yoga instructor with more than 14 years of professional performance experience.
Rafaela trained at the prestigious Bolshoi Theatre School in Brazil, completing a Technician in Classical Dance qualification through intensive Vaganova based Russian ballet training.

Her professional career began with the Young Company of the Bolshoi Theatre School before taking her internationally to established ballet organisations across Russia, including the State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, Mariinsky Theatre – Primorsky Branch, and Ural Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she was promoted to Soloist. She later continued her career as a Soloist with Astana Ballet in Kazakhstan.

We are incredibly excited to have Rafaela bring her extensive professional stage experience, beautiful classical training and international knowledge into the studios at QNB.

How beautiful is Violet, 12, part of our Certificate IV in Dance (Elite Stream), working on her Kitri Act III Variation.

Violet, your consistent work ethic, determination and drive are showing in your results. The improvement you have made is remarkable, and it is a reflection of the work you continue to put in every single day.

Our Extension Programs are designed for aspiring young dancers aged 8–17 years, with three progressive levels held after school. They provide focused, structured training in an environment where students are surrounded by like-minded dancers who share their passion and aspirations, all based on the Russian Vaganova Method of Classical Ballet.

Beginning with our Junior Extension Program, we focus on developing strong foundations — understanding the body, building connections, coordination and movement pathways. At this age, learning comes through repetition, repetition, repetition.

Corrections are gentle but consistent, with regular reinforcement from the teacher helping students develop muscle memory, body awareness and confidence. As dancers progress through the three levels, they become increasingly independent, learning to apply corrections and take greater ownership of their training.

It is a clear pathway for young dancers who want to train with greater focus and purpose.
