Los Pibes

looks like the season begins this Tuesday again... I'm going to see our options at other venues. Who's still keen on playing?

And so it goes... After a last minute pull out from the opposition, Los Pibes clenched 3rd place in the finals by default. What is interesting is that after asking another team what place they were shooting for, the answer was (verified by the referee), 3rd and 4th - 'B' Grade... This can only mean that we were actually shooting for 3rd place within the 'A' Grade teams. Weird huh!

Just to re-cap, we only missed out on getting 1st place in the 'B' Grade comp by a couple of points and therefore finished 2nd on the league table.

This week, there will be no fixture. Tuesday March 27 will be our last game for the 2011-12 Summer Comp. The battle for 3rd & 4th place in the finals.

Los Pibes FC played against Gumby FC and went down 10-6. A real shame. Now it's the race for 3rd and 3th place to end the Summer Comp.

The Quarter Finals have been played and Los Pibes came out victorious over Pin Pals... we had no subs, but had a ring-in which worked really nicely with the team. Despite their sub-advantage, Pin Pals were downed by Los Pibes 5 -8. A great team effort for those who made it happen. Next up, the Semi Finals. Woot!

The end of the summer comp has come upon us and our last fixture was between the 1st and 2nd teams on the ladder. Los Pibes versed DTF and unfortunately went down 4-10 (roughly). We gave it all but in the end, we just couldn't convert our shots. We were in the lead early with a couple of goals from myself and Brendan, which they soon equalled. Another goal from brendan and then our last goal from Spencer's bullet free kick gave us our fourth late in the second half.

A big thank you to all our players this season and for putting in a huge effort week in, week out. Now, the Quarter finals are upon us. Keep an eye out for more details.

Los Pibes downed Saffta 5-2 with goals coming from Brendan, Spencer, and Mark. The closest I got was the post off the left boot after a nice turn - which Mark slotted in the back off the net :P Well done guys. Thanks for the effort.

NB. Remember, there is only 1 more game before the finals begin. So lets win this one too :)

Last night Los Pibes went down to United 10-1. Toe Pokers (which were to verse us last night pulled out of the comp) If DTF lost their game, we are still on top of the table. If they drew, we are level in 1st place with them. If they won, we moved down one spot to 2nd position. We will know by next week. Thanks to all who played and put in the effort.

On a separate note, I would like to welcome Tony back to the team. We missed you :)

2011-2012 Summer Comp (Los Pibes FC), Aztecs Futsal

Well last week, the other team didn't show up so we got the points... we instead played an A grade team sharing 2nd position and only lost by 1 goal... This week, we played Anorthosis and BLITZED THEM 18-5! Awesome job guys. DTF Also won their game so unfortunately, we didn't increase our lead. We are however still on 1st place in the ladder by 2 points.

On another note, Thanks Graeson Cooper for being part of Los Pibes FC :) We hope to see you in the finals to wrap up an almost perfect season (Having only lost 1 game - oddly enough, to Anorthosis - go figure) :D
