🇳🇿 YUN JUNG DO NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿

I recently spent an hour on the phone with Instructor Mr John Cowan discussing the future growth and development of Yun Jung Do in New Zealand.

One of the things I enjoy most about working with our instructors is the opportunity to share ideas, solve challenges, and plan for the future together. Strong organisations are built by people who care about their students, support each other, and are willing to invest in continuous improvement.

During my upcoming visit to New Zealand, we'll be working on several initiatives aimed at strengthening support for our instructors, improving communication, and helping our clubs continue to grow.

The future of Yun Jung Do isn't built by any one person. It's built by dedicated instructors and students working together to create strong clubs and positive training environments.

Thank you to John for the great conversation and for his ongoing commitment to Yun Jung Do in New Zealand.

I'm looking forward to catching up with everyone soon.

🇸🇧 YUN JUNG DO INTERNATIONAL – SOLOMON ISLANDS SEMINAR 🇸🇧

Yun Jung Do International is excited to continue its support of martial arts development throughout the Pacific with a special seminar in the Solomon Islands this July.

The seminar will focus on practical self-defence, technical development, teaching methods, and the core principles that have guided Yun Jung Do since its founding by Grandmaster Young Ku Yun.

This event is an opportunity for students, instructors, and martial artists from all backgrounds to come together, train, share knowledge, and strengthen the martial arts community within the Solomon Islands.

As an international organisation, we remain committed to helping our members grow not only as martial artists, but also as leaders within their clubs and communities.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to what promises to be an outstanding weekend of training and learning.

Train Hard. Stay Humble. Keep Learning.

Why Do People Travel Across the World to Train Together?

In a world where information is available instantly online, some people still choose to travel thousands of kilometres, take time away from work and family, and spend a week living and training together.

Why?

Because martial arts is about more than techniques.

The greatest lessons are often found in the conversations between classes, the friendships built over shared meals, the challenges overcome during training, and the opportunity to learn directly from instructors and fellow students who share the same journey.

Every year, students travel from different countries, different cultures, and different backgrounds to come together through Yun Jung Do. They arrive as individuals but leave as part of something much larger.

The Yun Jung Do International Residential Seminar is more than a training camp. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the art, strengthen old friendships, build new ones, and experience the unique culture that has connected our international family for decades.

Whether you are a beginner or a senior student, the experience of training, learning, and living together creates memories and lessons that stay with you long after the seminar has ended.

We look forward to welcoming students from around the world to the 2026 Yun Jung Do International Residential Seminar.

Train together. Learn together. Grow together.

Yun Jung Do has always been more than a martial art.

Since its founding by Grandmaster Young Ku Yun, the vision has been to build a worldwide community of students committed to personal development, lifelong learning, and helping others.

Today, that vision continues to grow.

Across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and beyond, Yun Jung Do students and instructors continue to train, teach, and share the values that have shaped our organisation for decades.

Over the coming months, we look forward to connecting with members through seminars, instructor development, club visits, and international events as we continue building the future of Yun Jung Do together.

While our clubs may be separated by oceans and thousands of kilometres, we remain connected by a common purpose, shared values, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

One Art.
Many Countries.
One Community.

Great to see these teenage students working hard and continuing to develop their skills at the Yun Jung Do Mangere Bridge Club in Auckland, New Zealand.

Under the guidance of Ms Curtis, the students recently completed their grading and demonstrated the commitment, effort, and progress that comes from consistent training.

Congratulations to everyone on their successful promotions. We look forward to seeing your continued growth both on and off the training floor.

Martial arts should develop more than physical skill.

Over time, training should help build discipline, confidence, resilience, communication and a stronger sense of community.

At its best, martial arts becomes a vehicle for personal growth — not only for champions or competitors, but for everyday people trying to improve themselves step by step.

This idea has always remained at the heart of Yun Jung Do.

Develop the Mind.
Build the Body.
Nurture the Soul.
Build a Community.

🇸🇧 SOLOMON ISLANDS SEMINAR 🇸🇧

I’m looking forward to returning to the Solomon Islands this July to continue working with the martial arts community in the region.

Over the years, one of the most rewarding parts of martial arts has been seeing people from different backgrounds come together through training, discipline, and shared experience.

This seminar will focus on practical martial arts application, personal development, leadership, and the continued growth of Yun Jung Do within the Solomon Islands.

Open to all martial artists regardless of style or experience level.

Further venue and registration details will be confirmed shortly by the Solomon Islands organising committee.

Today, Yun Jung Do International proudly acknowledges and congratulates Ross Cameron on being announced as an inductee into the Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame and the World Karate Union Hall of Fame for 2026.

This recognition reflects a lifetime dedicated not only to martial arts excellence, but to the development of people through education, leadership, and service to the wider community.

For more than five decades, Master Cameron has devoted himself to the study, teaching, and evolution of martial arts across multiple disciplines. Through his work with Yun Jung Do International, Fightcross MMA & Fitness, seminars throughout Oceania, and the mentoring of students and instructors worldwide, he has consistently promoted martial arts as more than physical training alone.

His vision has always been clear:
Martial arts should be a vehicle for human development.

Through this philosophy, Master Cameron has worked to help students build confidence, discipline, resilience, leadership, and community connection — both on and off the training floor.

As the Chief Instructor of Yun Jung Do International and a longtime student of Grandmaster Yun, he has continued to carry forward the organisation’s values of developing the mind, building the body, nurturing the soul, and strengthening community.

These Hall of Fame inductions are a well-deserved acknowledgment of the impact he has had on students, instructors, martial arts organisations, and communities throughout Australia and internationally.
