✨ Teacher Spotlight with Danielle Veivers ✨

Danielle is one of our fabulous tap teachers! We are so lucky to have her🫶🏼

2B: Tell us a little about yourself?
D: I started dancing at the age of 3 and fell in love. Tap, jazz, ballet, song and dance - I could not get enough. It even took me to the stages of Disney and Universal Studios! During uni, I stopped dancing for about 15 years but rediscovered my passion when I became a student at 2B. Now, in addition to my day job running a PR consultancy, I have the privilege of teaching tap and jazz to this amazing community.

2B: What made you take up dancing as a youngster?
D: I loved swimming as a child but my best friend invited me along to a dance class. Galloping around the room to Sexy Eyes clearly had an impact! Now, three decades later, she’s the swimmer and I am the dancer. Call it fate or the power of a good tune!

2B: What role in what production is a dream role?
D: I can see myself as Roxy Hart in Chicago - my name lights with a murderous flair! I had the opportunity to fulfil this dream on a smaller stage when I did Roxy as a song & dance solo in my teen years. Great costume, fantastic props!

2B: What is your life motto you like to live by?
D: Common sense isn’t common 😂

2B: Perfect day looks like?
D: I love travelling. Exploring a new destination with my partner, relaxing with a bottle (or two) of w**e, and enjoying delicious food sounds dreamy!

2B: How long have you been teaching at 2Ballerinas and why do you enjoy it so much?
D: I have been teaching at 2B since December last year…it was a happy accident when I volunteered as a student to cover a tap class. Now they’re stuck with me! I love the community at 2B - it’s not competitive - everyone is welcoming, friendly, and has a great sense of humour.

✨ TEACHER SPOTLIGHT WITH GABRIEL ✨

Next up for our teacher spotlight is the wonderful Gabriel, one of our lovely ballet teachers!

2B: Tell us a little about yourself
G: I’m Gabriel, A cocktail of dance teaching, surfing, book reading and an unhealthy obsession with learning new skills — shaken with an easy-going attitude and just a splash of mild unhinged energy.

2B: What started you on your dancing journey?
G: I found a love for dance through its physical challenge and the feeling of constantly working towards something.

2B: What does your perfect day look like?
G: A slow morning, good coffee, good food and time with people I enjoy being around.

2B: When you grew up you wanted to be?
G: Honestly, I went through a few ideas, but I always knew I wanted to do something creative.

2B: Sweet or savoury?
G: Savoury, every time.

2B: How long have you been teaching at 2B and why do you enjoy it so much?
G:I’ve been teaching at 2B for over a year, and I love being part of a community where you get to watch students grow and find their own confidence.

Up next we have the Incredible Lyn Denny 🫶🏼

2B: Tell us about yourself?
L: I was born and bred in Mackay. Music has always been a big part of my life. I studied piano, and speech and drama as well as dance. For me, dance is the visual expression of Music.
In 1963, I trained for the RAD Advanced in Townsville. In 1964 I took over a dance school in Mackay as the owner could not continue. Over successive years I developed and directed this, my studio, until the end of 2007. I have a passion My passion for theatre so I’m 1965 I co-founded the Mackay Musical Comedy Players filling the roles of Director, Musical Director, or Choreographer in many of the productions. MMCP is still very much alive in 2026, and celebrated their 60th Anniversary year in 2025.
In 1975 I established a youth dance company in Mackay, culminating into expanding it as a regional company for central Qld until 1991. We engaged professional dancers as guest artists, and also professional choreographers for the major work in the annual production, with the balance of the program being filled by local choreographers.

2B; What is a Personal Highlight?
L: Playing the role of Lady Capulet in Harold Collins’ “Romeo and Juliet” in the Qld Ballet Brisbane Season and then the Queensland Tour.

2B: The most famous person you have met?
L: This is a hard one as I have met so many interesting and talented people over my life time.
I would have to say Nancy Hayes. I was very fortunate enough to be her choreographer for a musical she directed for the Conservatorium of musics at JCU. She was a most gracious and humble person, as well as being very gifted.

2B: What production could you watch forever?
L: Francois Klaus’ “Cloudland” for Qld Ballet. I cannot explain it. It really hit an emotional chord.


What is your perfect day?
L: Time to complete the planned tasks, time to listen to favourite musical choices or read, a quiet time to think, and perhaps go to the theatre.

2B: How long have you been teaching at 2ballerinas for?
L: I have lost count as I have enjoyed it so much. I especially appreciate the wonderful atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie. Teaching adult

In April we celebrated 19 years of 2ballerinas ✨

What started as a dream 19 years ago has grown into such a beautiful community, and we couldn’t be more grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey.
To every dancer who has walked through our doors over the years — thank you for your support, energy, friendship, and love for dance. Seeing so many of you grow in confidence, create lasting memories, and share your passion with us has meant the world 🤍

We also feel so incredibly lucky to have had such talented, passionate, and supportive teachers be part of 2B over the years. Their dedication, encouragement, and love for dance have helped shape the welcoming community we have today.

Thank you for being part of our story and helping make the studio what it is today 🫶🏼
