Blaze players Daykin Stanger, Hayden Pease, Tom Wycherley and Matt Hawthorne are selected in the Australia A Men’s Team for the series against China on the Gold Coast from 12–17 June, with the side coached by Matt Wells.

In front of Members of Parliament, invited guests, Association representatives and Olympians, Hockey Queensland was proud to highlight the breadth of our programs and the impact hockey is having across communities throughout the state.

While hockey is Australia's most successful Olympic team sport, its greatest impact is often found away from the elite stage. It is in local clubs, regional communities, volunteer-led programs, inclusive participation initiatives and the thousands of Queenslanders who connect through our game every week.

Events like Parliamentary Friends of Hockey are incredibly important in helping us advocate for the future of our sport - supporting participation growth, strengthening our international hosting ambitions, and continuing to inspire the next generation of Olympic dreams.

Families, young athletes, and community members had the chance to meet the incredible men and women who keep Ipswich safe during Ipswich Hockey Association’s ‘Local Heroes Day’!

A highlight this year, Queensland Police brought one of their horses who enjoyed a few good pats. Thanks again to all the local heroes who came out for a morning of family, community, hockey and fun!
