Coot-tha Kids MTB

Thank you and Merry Christmas to the NTCA trail fairies that work so incredibly hard maintaining the awesome trails at Ironbark and Bunya.

The Coot-tha and Ironbark Kids snuck a peak at the NTCA's letter to Santa and gave them some early Christmas presents. These are some seriously heavy crow bars that the NTCA team wanted for building all the fun features that the kids love to ride.

We love collaborating with the trail care teams and land managers wherever we ride. Thank you for all the sweat and hard work that you put in. 🙏

They are helping MTB trail building groups and MTB clubs such as ours with their generosity and vision.

They want to help us to help other clubs and groups of adults start kids MTB clubs just like ours (Coot-tha Kids MTB , Ironbark Kids MTB and hopefully one day soon.... Bunya Kids MTB).

If you want help starting a kids MTB club please connect with us and we will share all of our lesson plans, syllabus, handbook, experience, etc. for free. Your coaches can come and ride with us to familiarise yourselves with how it works and we will parachute our coaches into your club when you start running your own sessions.

Dear friends of Mount Coot-tha Reserve
Brisbane City Council is pleased to advise a trail care program on Mount Coot-tha Reserve will commence from 26 May 2022.
The Mount Coot-tha Trail Care program is a volunteer program that aims to address some of the damage caused by recent wet weather events and help facilitate a partial reopening of the network as soon as possible.
Council is inviting expressions of interest from residents, riders and nature lovers interested in participating in trail care activities. No experience is necessary, Council staff and contractors will be on hand to support, train and guide volunteers in basic remediation works.

The first trail care sessions are scheduled for:
• Thursday 26 May 2022
• Sunday 5 June 2022
• Sunday 12 June 2022
• Sunday 26 June 2022

Further dates will be released in due course.

Sessions will run for 3-4 hours. Volunteers are invited to stay for refreshments afterwards and celebrate their achievements.

Mount Coot-tha Trail Care program Council is pleased to announce the release of a new mountain bike trail maintenance program at Mount Coot-tha.

After school MTB coaching for kids at Bunya and Ironbark throughout Term 2.

Awesome sessions full of fun and learning under the guidane of the amazing rideTECHNICS team with whom we deliver our own club sessions on Sundays.

If you are on our wait list, we highly recommend that you get the kids into this program.

We are ready, willing and able to assist but fully understand that safety is the primary concern for all so will be staying out of the forest until told it is safe to ride / walk / perform trail care / etc.

There are some Kids MTB Club spaces available at the BushRATS for this term.

Please use this link to sign up and snaffle a spot. Their first session is this coming Sunday. They meet at Karingal Scout grounds and have their own trail network to play on.

And it's only $80 for an 8 week program. That's just $10 per session.

Ride Technics & Progressive Coaching Systems present the BNE Academy. A Brisbane-Based Junior Academy for XCO riders. The aim is to provide riders with the best-in-class coaching, curriculum and competitions needed to excel.

The BNE Academy has been established to assist riders with skills development, training prescription and race craft. The BNE Academy is for riders who want to improve their riding at a Local, State, National and International competition all the way through to those that have Olympic aspirations now and into the future.

The program will have an emphasis on education, athlete development and skills. There will be a focus on racing for developing and increasing learning opportunities.

The BNE Academy is taking applications from interested riders aged 12-15yo in 2022! The program will start in January 2022!

BNE Academy - rideTECHNICS - MTB & Cycling Skills Coaching Brisbane is all set to host the 2032 Olympics and if you’re aged 12-15 year old, then in 2032 you will be 22 – 25 years old and in your prime to represent Australia at a home Olympic Games in XCO Mountain Biking!

What an exciting time for kids MTB in South East Queensland. Not only are we restarting our lessons for the term but it sees the kick off of our sister club at Ironbark Kids MTB and the Bush Rats program by our friends RATS MTB.
Add these to the other existing club programs and Pro Coaches and there are becoming options for kids across the whole of SEQ.
