We are truly grateful to share some bittersweet news. The GCMXC Committee has learned that the North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club Inc will be closing its doors, and we extend our heartfelt support to the Committee and their Members during this challenging time, especially since there are no immediate plans for a new venue.
We sincerely appreciate the opportunity we've been given to utilise many of their facilities, equipment, and resources while the search for a new home for NBJMCC continues. Itβs a humbling gesture that shows the strength of our community.
In light of this, we kindly invite our Brisbane-based Members to lend a hand this week at the NBJMCC facility to help pack up and load trucks. For our Members in the Gold Coast area, we would greatly appreciate your support this Saturday, in preparing GCMXC to receive the items at our end.
Additionally, we would like to reach out to an air conditioning specialist who could assist at the NBJMCC facility with disconnecting a brand new 3.5 kV system so it can be transported to Gold Coast.
This is an incredible opportunity for our Club to benefit from these facilities, and we are thankful to all who contribute.
The NBJMCC will be starting at 7AM each day this week, including this Saturday, 24th, while GCMXC will begin at 8AM on Saturday, 24th.
Letβs unite in gratitude and support to help both clubs during this time. Thank you for your help!
π’ Working Bee Update π’
Please note that the working bee scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) has been cancelled.
We had a great turnout of dedicated members today, and a significant amount of work was achieved. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and put in such a big effort β itβs very much appreciated.
π οΈ Works will continue throughout the coming week, starting Monday. Any and all members who are able to lend a hand during the week are warmly invited to come along and help.
We will also be holding another working bee next Saturday to make a final push to:
- Complete dismantling works
- Pack goods
- Prepare everything ready for the trucks
πͺ Your club needs your support, so please roll up your sleeves and join us if you can.
β° Start time: 8:00am each day this week, including Saturday
Please contact us and let us know which days you are available to help.
Thank you again to everyone supporting the club during this time.
We are holding a General Members Meeting and Working Bee this Saturday, followed by working bees on Sunday and again the following weekend (both days).
π Saturday
π£ Meeting starts at 8:30am
π¨ Working bee to follow the meeting
π BBQ lunch provided
Meeting agenda:
The key item for this meeting is to discuss and vote on the future of the club moving forward.
It is extremely important that all members who wish to see the club continue operating into the future attend and have their say.
All attendees should come with the expectation of assisting with the relocation and decommissioning plan that is already underway, with works continuing after the meeting.
π Working Bees
The following weekend β both Saturday and Sunday
Your support is crucial during this time. Please make every effort to attend and help where you can.
Thanks everyone, and thank you for your support on short notice.
If you are able to attend please let us know via email [email protected]
NBJMCC Committee
Helpers needed Saturday morning from 8am to help set up for presentations. If you are available please message us or email [email protected]
If you have any of the club signage this can be returned either before Saturday or on the day.
The North Brisbane Junior Motorcycle Club Inc would like to extend its gratitude to the individuals responsible for removing or stealing the track signs on Saturday, including the track name signs and the large race order sign in the pits, as well as the signs displaying the race names. Unfortunately, the club no longer has these signs for its records and historical purposes. As a result, the club will need to purchase replacements for the new track. If you are in possession of these signs, please return them, as they are the property of the club and its members, and removing them is stealing from the members.
