What a fantastic way to finish Term 3! 🎾👏
We had a great weekend of JT tournament action on the 12-13th September across Samford and Caboolture, with so many of our young athletes competing at a really high level and representing Southern Cross Tennis brilliantly.

A huge highlight was an all-Samford final in the 12 & Under Tier 2 Girls Singles, with Lucia Collyer taking the win over Lizzy Warrington. What an amazing effort from both girls — it was awesome to see such a high standard of tennis and such strong competition from two of our own players! 💪🎾

A special mention as well to:

🏆 Bodhi Morrish – Runner-up in the 14 & Under Boys Doubles and reached the quarterfinals of the 14 & Under Boys Singles

👏 Aanya Shah & Olivia Daley – Reached the semifinals of the 14 & Under Girls Doubles

👏 Ellie Argent – Reached the consolation semifinals of the 12 & Under Girls Singles

👏 Andrew Mather – Reached the quarterfinals of the 16 & Under Boys Singles

👏 Olivia Daley – Reached the consolation semifinals of the 14 & Under Girls Singles

🥉 Andrew Tompkins – Finished 3rd in the 14 & Under Boys Singles Tier 3

A big well done also to our squad players Jacob Muridge, Ava Rahnama, Patrick Rashchke, Elise Roberts-Thomson and Izabella Say for getting out there and competing. Every tournament is another opportunity to learn, improve and gain valuable match experience.

We’re so proud of all the players who competed and the effort they put in across the weekend. It’s great to see everyone continuing to improve, compete hard and support each other along the way.

Well done everyone! 🎾💙

🎉 Congratulations to Sienna Jensen on achieving her Tennis Australia Club Pro Level 2 qualification! 🎾

A huge congratulations to Sienna Jensen on officially receiving her Tennis Australia Club Pro Level 2 certificate! Sienna completed the qualification earlier this year at just 21 years of age, and it was great to have Sam Bradshaw from Tennis Australia visit us this morning to complete the final sign-off. A big thank you to Sam for your time and support throughout the process.

This achievement places Sienna alongside Jesse and Jessica Catterall as one of Southern Cross Tennis’s Club Professional Level 2 qualified coaches, continuing our long tradition of developing top-quality coaches.

We’re especially proud of the amazing women in our coaching team. Female coaches play such an important role in our sport, and at Southern Cross Tennis we’ve always been passionate about developing young women through our own programs and supporting them into coaching pathways.

Sienna’s journey is a great example of that pathway. After competing as a high-level player, she found her passion in coaching and loves helping players improve while making every lesson fun and enjoyable.

Alongside her coaching, Sienna is also balancing her studies and work as a Pilates instructor, and we’re proud to support her as she continues to grow both on and off the court.

Congratulations again, Sienna! We’re excited to see what the future holds.
