This was so amazing to witness live. The taiko drums and our clogging shoes worked perfectly together and reminded us of how the arts can be such a wonderful melting pot and exchange of culture and traditions.

Way back in January… there was a little idea. ❤️

Amy fromSilver Soles Cloggers Inc. mentioned that she liked the idea of starting with some acapella clogging and then having it build into something bigger.

And we do love to run with an idea and see where it takes us. 😂

What started as a small thought between a few friends slowly grew into Vibe Check, a much bigger project involving dancers from different states, different clubs and different experience levels.

We wanted it to be inclusive and of course, we had friends we wanted to dance with. And somewhere along the way, we also decided formations would be a good idea… despite the small issue of us not actually living in the same state. 😂

People learnt from videos, practised in their own groups and sent clips back and forth. There were messages. Videos. More messages. And people helping each other remember steps and formations. I'm sure there were frustrations too but the patience, effort and everyone continuing to show up and give it a go was what mattered.

What started as a little January idea became something much bigger than a dance. It became an exercise in connection, teamwork and people stepping outside their comfort zones.

I’m so proud to dance with every single person who was part of Vibe Check. Thank you for putting in the work and coming along for the ride.

This was already a super fun routine (Get Ready by Naomi Pyle) but we do love to mix things up at class. It’s a great one for our beginners to practise their basics, while still being plenty of fun for our more experienced dancers too.

Basics from 6pm Monday nights. All ages, all levels! Come clog with us!
