The FIA is upgrading Formula 4 helmet requirements for FIA Certified F4 events only to the ABP (Advanced Ballistic Protection) standard, starting in 2026!
Previously reserved for F1, F2, and F3, this tech brings:
β
A reinforced forehead area for debris protection
β
A narrower eyeport for increased structural strength
β
Better energy absorption in frontal impacts
Bringing top-tier safety standards to the junior categories is a massive win. Good to see the FIA doubling down on protection for open-wheel rising stars. π
