We are very disappointed to share this news, but we have had to make the decision to cancel the upcoming Rainbow Beach Triathlon scheduled for 30/31 July 2022.

Despite low patronage we were determined to go ahead with the event but unfortunately, road closure costs have tripled as a result of being a regional event and new legislation from July 1 – and we are facing a cost of nearly $10 000 to close the road for police and road management services. We are deeply disappointed to have to make this decision and have explored other options to reduce the cost and make the event more viable.

We will be offering all participants a refund – or the opportunity to transfer their entry as credit to the Bribie Tri series. We will also make an option to obtain one of the Rainbow Beach Triathlon hoodies if you are interested. Please watch your emails for further information.

We hope that by making the decision this morning you will have the opportunity to cancel accommodation and other bookings if you choose to no longer visit the region.

Once again, we are so sorry to make this decision. As a sole trader we simply cannot absorb such a significant loss.

Rainbow Beach Double Triathlon – ‘Take 2’

Race Promotions wish to thank the Rainbow Beach community for making the event team, competitors and supporters of Rainbow Beach Double Triathlon welcome.

Our special thanks goes to TEAM RAINBOW for providing the marshals over the two days and to the Rainbow Beach Surf Club for their expertise with the swim course and manning the run drinks stations. Our thanks also goes to the Rainbow Beach Business centre and accommodation suppliers for their cooperation with dates changes and generosity with flexibility of bookings. Also thanks to Clay Preston - who came and volunteered his time to help with photos on the weekend.
