A few photos from a recent training day plus the latest photo of the dojo after a good clean. It is ready for training, we have been back now for 3 weeks, and are looking forward to for new people who are wanting to learn kyokushin karate.

We teach kids classes through to adults, four days a week. We teach beginners through to advanced people who have trained before, and maybe want to us a go. Anyone wanting to join us contact 0413048423 or check out our page and website.

We attended the IKOKU World Cup on the Gold Coast this weekend, and what a memorable event it was.

The standard of the kata and the kumite was high and it was evident how much training had been done.

Congratulations Vivienne Neilan, Shane Huttley & Liam Hill representing our dojo in the World Cup. Unfortunately Nick Shashko could not compete due to injury sustained in the last 2 weeks.

We are so proud of you all.

And a huge round of applause to Viv for 2nd place in her division.

It takes a lot to prepare for a tournament and you did yourselves proud.

The achievement showed dedication and commitment by Viv, Liam, Shane & Nick,supported by the Brisbane Senjo dojo enduring hard training over the last few months getting our fighters ready for the mat. It hasn’t been easy!! It has been a team effort.

Together we have created life long treasured memories and many new friends from across the world.

We were also fortunate to spend time with it Hanshi Trevor Field and Shihan Janelle Field, Sensei Brett Whitestyles and enjoyed the hospitality of Sensei Kev Vievers and his wife Sue, learning more about Kyokushin history.

Now back to focus on a grading next week and to continue mastering Kyokushin techniques.

Last Thursday’s class was one of biggest for a while focusing on lots of basics, kata and kumite. Big classes always bring big energy.

Last night we had our last junior grades grading for the year.
I was very impressed with the standard of our white and orange belts. They all put in a great effort, and tried their hardest which was great to see. They all did better than they thought they would. Keep up the good work .

Weekend gasshuku for Brown and black belts is now over. It was a good turn out from the Senjo dojo group people from the Gold Coast , GinGin Brisbane, and of course from the head dojo Mackay. It was an extremely busy friday and Saturday. Lots of special areas covered. Special thanks to Hanshi Trevor and Sensei Brett for attending and running what is was a great experience for all who attended. Thanks to all who put the effort in to make it a great event, look for to seeing you all again soon.
