Lower Back Pain (LBP) encompasses various issues related to the spine's bones, joints, muscles, and nerves. In 2023, about 4 million Australians (16% of the population) experienced back problems, leading to significant impacts like sleep disruption, emotional irritability, pain, and reduced ability to exercise and perform daily tasks. These effects often worsen if untreated.
Exercise is vital for managing LBP as it promotes healing, improves function, and prevents future episodes. Regular, targeted exercise strengthens the muscles supporting the spine, including the core, lower back, and hips, reducing strain and enhancing stability. It also positively affects mental well-being by lowering stress and anxiety, which can decrease pain perception.
We can help!
To effectively manage LBP, it's crucial to design a tailored exercise program with professional guidance from an Exercise Physiologist. A structured and consistent regimen can significantly alleviate lower back pain!

Falls are a major health concern for those aged 65 and older, leading to accidental injuries and hospitalisations. One in three people over 65 experiences a fall annually, often resulting in fractures or a fear of falling that increases inactivity and worsens health. Exercise plays a crucial role in mitigating these risks. As we age, balance, muscle strength, and reaction times decline. Regular physical activity, including balance, gait training, and strength exercises, reduces fall risk by 12% and falls by 19%. Exercise Physiologists create tailored programs to enhance balance, strength, and coordination, helping improve quality of life and longevity. Get in touch now to make a start toward mitigating your falls risk!
