Stretton Boxing Club

A great effort by the team today, capped off by a tko win by Humraaz in the last fight against a very tough opponent. We also had strong wins by Abraham, Mo and Mustafa. Gabriel, Mohammad Salman Mohammed Salehi and Abdullah lost but they all fought well and gained valuable experience. A big thank you to Matt Partridge for his help in preparing our team as well as in the corner.

Another big day of boxing tomorrow at the Neon Boxing Event, details as follows:
Weigh in is at 7 - 9 am.
Doctor is at 10 am.
Fights start at 11 am sharp.
When weighing in, please inform the R&J of your bout number to make things flow a bit easier.

We have 9 boxers competing - as listed below. At this stage, we do not know when the breaks will be, however, they usually have 1 or 2 breaks during the day. I have not allowed for any breaks in the indicative times below. Boxers should always ensure they are there at least an hour before the indicative time below, as there can be stoppages and further pull-outs.

The Stretton Boxing Club will be closed on Monday 4 May due to the Labour Day public holiday. Classes resume as normal on Tuesday 5 May.

Things are heating up down here in Melbourne and not just the unusually warm Melbourne weather. Andrew Hunt and Ben Hussain both had a lot to say at the presser yesterday and the feeling at the weigh-in today was just as intense, even though you could have heard a pin drop. It's clear to see that both fighters are aware of how tough this fight is going to be. Ben made his 13cm height advantage very obvious in the face-off, goading Andrew to come closer - but what Andrew lacked in height, he made up for in courage and never wavered. His steely gaze was unflinching and rest assured, he has never been this fired up before a fight. Andrew will be on at about 7.40pm tomorrow night on DAZN on a sold out SLB Fight Night/Matchroom card. You do not want to miss this fight!

The Stretton Boxing Club will be closed on Monday 27 April, Tuesday 28 April and Wednesday 29 April due to the Andrew Hunt v Ben Hussain IBF Intercontinental Title fight on Wednesday evening. We look forward to seeing you all again on Thursday 30 April.

I apologise for the late notice but the Stretton Boxing Club is closed tonight, as virtually everyone is going to watch Suliaman's pro debut.

Suli made weight comfortably today and is pumped for his pro debut tomorrow night against a very fit and tough opponent in Scottie Williams. Tickets are nearly all gone I am told. All of the fighters looked in great condition at the weigh-in, so we're sure to see plenty of fireworks. The fights start at 6pm. Tasman Fighters
