Could you be our next Club Secretary?

After many years of tireless service — first as President, then as Secretary, Steve Davidson will be stepping down from the committee in June. Steve has been an absolute cornerstone of this club and we can't thank him enough. But his departure means we have a critical role to fill, and we need someone to put their hand up.

The good news? The hard yards are done. The systems are in place, the processes are running, and David Jackson (outgoing President) is happy to stay involved and support whoever steps into the role. This is genuinely a case of keeping the machine ticking over, not building from scratch.

Club Secretary: The engine room of the committee. Scheduling meetings (roughly 8–10 per year), maintaining club files (Google Workspace), keeping the calendar current, setting long run dates, and managing general enquiries. Ideal for someone organised and comfortable with basic IT. Handover support from both Steve and David included.

General committee membership is also always welcome. The more the merrier. Meetings are 8–10 times a year and the ask beyond that is simply to help where you can.

If you're interested, or just want to know more before committing, please reach out. We'd love to hear from you.

Di Miller
What a lady!!
Sadly, Di has passed away after battling a long illness.

Di was a beautiful and spirited member of the running community. Her life will be celebrated this Friday at 12pm, at Centenary Memorial Gardens, Sumner

Many of our runners will remember Di and her husband Bob for their very colourful presence at the 500km Road Relay held every November. Over this three day team relay weekend around the Darling Downs , they would pop up with their van full of costumes to cheer and entertain the 20 teams racing .

Di would appear dressed head to toe in the most amazing outfits including a full black leather cat woman kit - mask and all, and a wedding dress, including gloves and veil . This was pretty remarkable as the days were long, scorching hot and riddled with flies.

Behind the scenes Di was committed to helping the community. Amongst this she contributed time to the Brisbane Road Runners Club , our intraining Running Club and many of the local major events in Brisbane.

A little trivia about Di was that she would walk the streets for hours in the very early hours of the morning collecting bottles people had dropped for recycling. Finding ways like this to help the wider world in her circle of life was important to do and admirable.

We will miss Di’s positive an joyful presence, but forever thankful for what she gave. Thinking of you Bob.

Moggill Marathon Festival Heroes,
Jenny Edwards will be hosting the Intraining tent at the Moggill Marathon this year on Sunday 17th May. Jenny will have the tent set up around 5am.
Attached is a map of the start/finish area. The Blue Dot is where you'll find the tent, with bag storage, Esky filled with goodies, some seats, and pom-poms for cheering.
The Green Spot is the start line, and the Red strip is towards the finish line 🥳
“Looking forward to cheering you all on 🎉”
Jenny.
P.S. Post below if you’re running and which distance.

Thank you to our volunteers 🙏
Yesterday was intraining’s day to run the Qld Athletics Cross Country.

We had a fabulous team of volunteers working shifts from course set up in the morning, to marshalling, running th BBQ / food stall, and the final pack up.

Thank you to everyone below who helped out. Your time was really appreciated.
Kay Toy, Mike Dickson, James Rees, Jenny Edwards, Sue Boyce , Keiran Gilmore, Miwa Kolb, Steve Bennett, Jack Turnbull, Liz King, Felicity Cooper, Lea Dunn, Susie Thornton, Catherine Malherbe, Brett Malherbe.

A huge thank you to our club president David Jackson for create an easy volunteer roster and being there all day, to Steve Manning for co-ordinating the course and volunteers, and to Heydon Manuel and Jack Turnbull for preparing all the food.

Many hands make light work and it’s actually quite fun to be on the other side of the running course for a change.

If you’re keen to help volunteer with our intraining crew at the Moggill Marathon , pls contact Jenny Edwards

For those aiming for the Gold Coast Marathon this year the course maps are out. The marathon has 65 Metres elevation over 42195 Metres of running. That is .15% and is why it is potentially a PB Course. Let us know below if you are doing the marathon and what your target time may be.
