Peter is heading into retirement and decided to treat himself with to this fully restored Rover 45!

A keen lawn and garden man, he’s now looking forward to spending more time doing what he enjoys - and we reckon he’s picked the perfect machine!

Fully restored by BCMS and ready for its next chapter.

A little L**e goes a Long way💦 ⛓️‍💥 🛢️

This machine came into the workshop with drive components that hadn’t seen enough lubrication, and what should normally come apart relatively easily had well and truly seized itself together.

The result? Heat, pullers and a lot more work just to get things apart. 🔥🔧

Cylinder mowers have chains, sprockets, bearings and moving components that need regular attention. Keeping your chains correctly lubricated is a simple bit of maintenance that can save a much bigger repair down the track.

A few minutes of maintenance now can save hours in the workshop later.

We’re closed for the Ekka Show Holiday, but the Ekka holiday — and those timely Ekka winds — mark the unofficial start of the mowing season!

With plenty of moisture in the ground and spring just around the corner, conditions are setting up nicely for plenty of growth and some frequent mowing ahead.

The BCMS team is ready for another big season of sharpening, servicing, restorations and keeping Brisbane’s cylinder mowers cutting at their best.

Built for Ray, who’d always wanted a 20” Scott Bonnar in his arsenal! This restoration was all about creating something special.

Finished in Illusion Gambler Green with stainless steel features and chrome stickers, this machine features all the BCMS upgrades and all the bells and whistles we’ve made over years of restoring these classics.
