WEEK 3 WORKSHOP RECAP 🔥

Su’a and his team from ran us through basic spinning drills, focusing on form, control, and getting the foundations right. Nothing rushed, just putting in the work. We finished off with a few games to help bring everything together.

This week we have Su’a Andrew Isaako leading our Ailao Afi workshop 🔥

Starting at just 5 years old, Ailao Afi has been more than a skill for Su’a, it’s a family legacy passed down through generations, with his journey shaped alongside his brothers and family. From competing at a young age to now travelling the world and co-founding Brisbane’s first International Fire Knife Competition, he carries both experience and heart in everything he shares.

Practice sticks will be provided, so come ready to learn and grow in the art 🔥

Siva Samoa Workshop Recap 🇼🇸

Friday night carried a quiet kind of strength.

Litesha and Ina led with intention, creating a space that felt grounded, focused, and full of purpose. There was no rushing, no holding back, just a genuine pouring into every moment, every movement, every person in the room.

You could feel the care in the way they taught. The details mattered. The corrections mattered. The encouragement mattered. And because of that, what came together felt honest and beautiful.

It wasn’t just about learning choreography, but about growing in confidence, discipline, and presence.

Ina will be leading our gents - recently making the move from Ōtara, Auckland (274!) and already achieving so much in such a short time. With years of experience in Siva Samoa and cultural performance spaces, he brings a depth of knowledge shaped by both stage and story.

There's something powerful about learning from someone who carries not just skill, but heart, discipline, and a deep respect for where it all comes from.

Kuki Airani Ura Workshop Recap 🇨🇰

Week 1 with Kara set the tone in the best way! The session eased in with a warm-up that grounded everyone, and from there naturally flowed into the fundamentals of Cook Islands Ura.

It was a reminder that the basics matter. Taking the time to understand the movement, the control, and the intention behind it all. Nothing rushed, just building it properly from the ground up.

By the end, it all came together in a short item. You could already see the shift, from thinking about the movements to starting to embody them.

Grateful for the way Kara shared her knowledge and created space for everyone to learn and feel comfortable. Wishing her safe travels and God’s protection as she heads to Mexico!
