Just days after reports emerged linking Jesse Arthars to a return to the Gold Coast, CODE Sports is now reporting that the Titans have pulled their contract offer after a deadline passed without a decision.

That leaves Arthars’ future looking a whole lot more interesting.

Heartbreaking news for both the Broncos and Queensland 💔

Patrick Carrigan has undergone surgery on the syndesmosis injury he suffered against the Dragons and has now officially been ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 State of Origin series.

What was initially thought to be an injury that would only sideline him for Game II has unfortunately turned into a much longer recovery, with reports suggesting a 6-8 week layoff.

There’s never a good time to lose your captain, but losing Carrigan’s leadership, toughness and work ethic hurts both the Broncos and the Maroons in a massive way.

Wishing Patty a successful recovery and a speedy return to the field. 💪🐎

Ezra Mam has been dropped to the bench for Saturday’s Queensland derby, with Tom Duffy promoted to the starting five-eighth role.

CODE Sports labelled Mam the “scapegoat” for Brisbane’s recent performances… but there’s definitely a growing feeling amongst fans that this change has been coming for a few weeks now.

To be fair, Madge warned everyone after last round that changes were on the way — and he clearly wasn’t bluffing.

According to CODE Sports on X, Michael Maguire is set to make changes for Saturday’s clash with the Titans… and not all of them are injury enforced.

After Sunday’s performance, you could feel this coming. Even Ben Hunt admitted post-game that “enough is enough” and that changes were likely on the way.

To be fair, we said the same thing on this week’s podcast — Madge doesn’t strike us as the type of coach to just let poor performances slide.

According to CODE Sports on X, three Broncos stars sat out training today, with Peter Badel reporting the trio as Kotoni Staggs, Brendan Piakura, and Ben Hunt.

After the Origin period and the injury toll Brisbane is already carrying, this is the last thing Broncos fans wanted to hear heading into another massive week.

Hopefully it’s more precaution than panic… 👀
