Morning sun, evening sun. Both important. We meditate at these times.
Seeing the sun rise and sun set is a meditation all in itself. Be in that light.
This is Ayurvedic wisdom - now attributed to modern sleep science.
Sleep well and learn a little more if you wish…

Over the last four days with our BIYOME practitioners, we explored the shared human heart; our pain, our stories, and our capacity to heal together:
Trauma Informed Meditation Teacher Training.
We immersed ourselves in somatic experiencing, somatosensory-informed approaches, and contemplative inquiry.
We even engaged in a spirited Tibetan-style debate: Is trauma stored in the body? Or are we ultimately beyond the body altogether?
We wandered through conversations about evidence-based versus evidence-informed trauma work, eventually arriving at a simple truth: some of the most important evidence is found within direct experience itself.
We practised many methods for helping people move toward greater regulation, presence, and wholeness. Yet again and again, we returned to the understanding that healing is not primarily about technique. It is about who we are, what we have healed within ourselves, and the quality of presence we bring to another human being.
At a certain point, the techniques can fall away.
What remains is presence.
Right hemisphere to right hemisphere meditative compassionate healing.
Human to human.
A meeting in stillness.
A meeting in yoga ~ total union, or .
We explored the possibility that the body itself may be rendered within consciousness, rather than consciousness being produced by the body.
And to close, I was reminded of a few teachings that have guided me:
“Consciousness is awareness with a choice.” — Tom Campbell
“We are in this together.” — my mother, whose simple wisdom helped carry her children through suffering.
And perhaps one of the most compassionate teachings of all, from Paul Gilbert:
“It’s not your fault.”
Even while discussing pain, trauma, and suffering, there was lightness, laughter, connection, and joy.
Because healing is rarely found in harrowing moments or perfect answers.
More often, it is found in being fully present with one another (whatever that means and however that presents)
Yoga - a state free of concepts and words.
The state.

Never complain about your back pain. It makes it worse. Get straight into it and back bend a little daily. Proven to work better than surgery. A doctor named John Sarno wrote a book about back pain a long time ago. He said back pain was about anger! 😡 People still read his book years on, and even though the science is old, half still recover. Why? He gets them to write in their dairies every night about emotions that are linked to pain.
In , we link back pain to fear, which sits underneath anger. Regardless of all the above, the and experts explain how the body is rendered on consciousness, so try not to believe its verbalised emotional complaints too heavily. A bit of personal validation, some diarised and then bend that back gently, strongly and firmly back to health. Be active (not passive) and you will be well. 🌺

Hard to put into words the depth of appreciation for Monica Schweickle and her contribution to psychedelic-assisted therapy in Australia.
She quietly leads within the legalised medical framework with such humility, steadiness, and care. We are incredibly fortunate to have her guiding our last four days of Psychedelic assisted therapy training. She helps make this work possible for psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and yoga therapists interested in entering this emerging field safely and ethically.
If you are feeling called to learn, we would be honoured to walk alongside you - paving the way slowly, gently, and ever so carefully. Join us as soon as you are ready in this ever growing field -changing the lens of mental health in Australia.

Today I sat in training alongside doctors and allied health professionals, listening to frustration about the medical system and model of . Indeed!
It takes a fair bit of fire or grit to create change a system.
Yet, I found myself reflecting on how easily the “complaining ego” and angered “activism” can become a part of what we see reflected back to us from the outer world.
I have known this activism in myself for decades, so I have learned the hard way. Internal anger and grief projected onto external systems can often create more of same. I remind myself these days that all can be achieved in a gentle way with and .
Our systems are imperfect. But there also has to be acknowledgment that these systems are created by human beings doing their best within immense complexity. The realisation has to arise that these exist within us, and are not separate from us.
And despite their flaws, our flaws, we are still living within one of the most advanced medical systems in the world. That deserves utmost .
I believe something important is being lost when distrust in our systems becomes fashionable. Alongside reform, critique, and innovation, there must also be gratitude.
Traveling through countries where access to healthcare is limited reminds you very quickly not to take modern medicine for granted. is one powerful example of this contrast.
Healing begins not only in changing systems, but also in learning to hold high respect for the people working within them.
Deep bow and respect for our intricate and incredible medical system, which is now incredibly open to complementary medicine. Exciting times as we merge the two.
I have always said - “ are healers too.”

The best thing about yoga is that is self empowering practice. You learn to do it all on your own.
This is what clearly sets it apart from . You take ownership and you heal. You don’t need anyone else to do it for you.
If you can do five postures daily - there won’t be a day when you can’t do them. Trust in that wisdom - words from my Mum.
