Last weekend, some of our Grovers attended the QFA award night. This was an excellent night celebrating the talent and dedication of our Queensland fencing community. At this awards night we were fortunate enough to present the “Spirit of Ashgrove 2026 award” to two of our fencers who continue to provide an enjoyable and safe space for all of our club members. Huge thank you and congratulations to George and Pearl on this award.

Nominated by the Queensland fencing community, our very own, Imogen was awarded the 2025/2026 Young Change-Maker of the Year award for her ongoing work with the Queensland parafencing program as well as her efforts in supporting women in sport.

This was an excellent way to wrap up our 2025/2026 competitive season and was an enjoyable night for all our athletes. Thank you to everyone who came and thank you to our Ashgrove fencers for a great season. We look forward to continuing these great efforts into the next season.

New term, same Ashgrove. Last week kicked off our Term 3 training. Can’t wait to keep seeing so many new and familiar faces each week.

First session is always free with all gear provided at no additional cost.

Juniors: 6-7pm
Intermediates: 6:30-8pm
Epee: 7-8:30pm

This years International Women’s Day theme is Balance the Scales. Being a male dominated sport, we would like to take the time to acknowledge and celebrate our hard working women and girls who participate in our Ashgrove community. Whether that be through fencing, refereeing, or even outside of fencing, playing netball at the local park. Today is the day to recognise and appreciate the difference that women make in communities. Women’s sports is so paramount to the way young girls dream, imagine and participate. We look forward to continuing to foster a community that welcomes women and empowers them to be the best they can be 🤺🤺🤺

TRAINING FOR 2026 STARTS TOMORROW!!!! We are so excited to welcome everyone back for the new year with the beginning of the school year. With our first session of the year on Friday 30th Jan it’s super important to make sure your memberships are up to date. We hope to see plenty of new and familiar faces this year.
