Congratulations to all our swimmers and coaches on an outstanding weekend at the 2026 Gold Coast Championships!
Southport delivered a fantastic performance, finishing the meet with 13 Gold, 8 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals.
Despite many of our senior squads being deep in heavy training, our swimmers still produced an incredible number of personal bests and podium finishes, from our 8-year-olds right through to our Open swimmers.
The meet also saw several Southport athletes qualify for State Champs, National Age Champs, Australian Open, and Commonwealth Games Trials — an exciting achievement for the club.
A special congratulations to our own Sam Herraman, who was crowned 17 & Over Age Champion.
Well done to everyone involved, swimmers, coaches, and supporters. Next up, Nationals! 🏊♀️🏅🏊♂️

Today we say see you later to two very special people.
Tamsyn and Sienna Walo, our incredible twins, are today flying out to begin an opportunity of a lifetime at the University of Nevada in the USA.
Sienna has brought determination, humility, and talent to our program. An individual national champion, and someone who can always be counted on to swim fast in a relay. Her impressive “get out swims”, and fearless ability to challenge the boys at training won’t be forgotten any time soon!
Tamsyn’s outgoing personality, quick sense of humour, and determination has left its mark on our team. A relay national medalist, true team player, and girl all things pink, she brings banter, drive, and encouragement to every gruelling Saturday morning set.
While we will miss having you both poolside here at Southport, we are so proud and excited to see you take on this opportunity. Good luck in Nevada, we will be cheering you on every step of the way! 🐺💙✈️

Big day at the GCAC for our Southport crew racing in the 2026 Gold Coast Sprint Championships.
Even after only just hitting the pool again in the last few weeks after our Christmas break, we had some amazing results and plenty of PBs! Well done team!
Congratulations to Sam Herraman on being named the 2026 Gold Coast Sprint Champion (Boys 16+).
A big thank you to the Swimming Gold Coast officials, and to coach Sam Harris, for making sure our swimmers were warmed up and race ready, as well as providing quality feedback.
Another thank you to our sponsor for their ongoing support. Reach out to them at (07) 5572 0133 to book an appointment for any injuries or niggles!

States 2025 has come to an end. After a long week of racing, yesterday we saw the team leave everything in the pool. Jimmy took a whopping 1.09 seconds off his entry time in the 50 breaststroke, and Sofia swam a 5.6 second PB in the 200 butterfly to secure the bronze medal! Another bronze medal went to Sienna in the 50 breaststroke.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed at this year’s QLD State Championships, and a big thank you to the coaches for all their hard work!

Almost there! On the second to last day of QLD Champs we had some fast swims! In the 50 fly, Sam swam a PB, and the exact same time in both the heats and finals, Hunter M equaled his PB to the millisecond, and Sofia took an incredible .87 off her seed time, breaking the 30 second mark for the first time! Hunter also took 1.56 seconds off his 100 butterfly to finish out his last race of the year. Congrats to all and bring on the last day!
