Congratulations to Ryley, Bailey and Agam who competed today in the Regional Tournament. I was lucky enough to be able to see you all spar and I’m so proud of how you all competed! Results are:

Ryley: silver in sparring
Bailey: bronze in patterns, bronze in sparring
Agam: bronze in patterns, silver in sparring

Integrity, along with Courtesy, are my favourite tenets. That’s not to disparage or diminish the other three tenets, but Integrity and Courtesy are the corner stones of how we interact and treat others and what kind of values we display.

Huge congratulations to Ms Melissa “Sapps” Saporita on winning the Student of the Year award at Summer Camp this year! Thoroughly deserved and we are so proud of you!

Did you know that General Choi, the founder of Taekwon-Do, wrote the Moral Guide Book, a compilation of the philosophical and spiritual teachings of the ancient wise men that shaped his childhood? I was reading it today and this quote jumped out at me because it reminded me so much of the dignified way that you all competed on Sunday and of what our club stands for. When facing an inexperienced opponent, you did enough to win, but not dominate. You helped preserve the dignity of your opponents and I’m so proud of you for that.
