After falling short of selection two years ago, Sophie Fadaely will earn her first senior cap at the 2026 World Squash Teams Championships in Korea.

The Queenslander will make her senior international debut alongside fellow first-timer Erin Classen, with Fadaely’s strong performances in the Oceania events in March this year confirming her rise to being one of Australia’s leading women.

The significance of pulling on the green and gold extends well beyond the court for Fadaely, particularly for her family and the squash community back home in Cairns.

Congratulations to the athletes selected to compete at the 2026 World Teams Squash Championships in Korea!

Four players will make their World Squash Teams Championships debuts when Australia heads to Korea, with a blend of emerging talent and international experience named to represent the nation.

Sophie Fadaely (QLD), Erin Classen (WA), Thomas Scott (NSW) and Oscar Curtis (WA) will all pull on the green and gold for the first time at the World Teams Championships.

They will be joined by a wealth of experience, led by Victorian Sarah Cardwell, who will make her sixth appearance at the Women’s World Teams Championships.

Kooyong to Host World Championships Qualifiers in 2027!

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club will host the Oceania World Championships Qualification event in 2027, with the prestigious Melbourne venue set to welcome the region’s leading players for a third consecutive year.

The Qualification event, March 4-7, will provide Oceania’s athletes with a direct pathway to the 2027 PSA World Championships, with players from across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region expected to contest the men’s and women’s draws.
