Australia's junior women's team has secured a place in the quarter-finals of the World Junior Championships after a commanding 3-0 victory over Ireland, marking back-to-back quarter-final appearances at the prestigious event.

Joanne Joseph set the tone with a straight-games victory in the No. 2 string, before Sarbani Maitra sealed Australia's progression with an impressive performance at No. 1.

Despite facing a challenging opponent, Maitra showed her composure by coming from behind in all three games to claim a 3-0 win. Tina Ma completed the clean sweep, overcoming Ireland's No. 3 in four games to wrap up a dominant team performance.

Australia now faces the toughest test in the quarter-finals, taking on defending champions Egypt, who have held the Junior Women's Team title since 2007.

Meanwhile, the Australian boys' team exited the main draw after a 3-0 defeat to third seeds England in the Round of 16. The team will now contest the 9–16 classification playoffs as they look to secure the highest possible finishing position, with either India or Kuwait awaiting in their next match.

Nearly 50 years after first picking up a racquet, Anna Bowen is set to make her World Squash Masters Championships debut. 💚

PSA Squash Tour - Challenger

Day 2 in Ontario and our are making progress at the World Squash Junior Championships Teams Event. 🇦🇺

The boys battled back to beat Mexico 2-1 and punch their ticket to the Round of 16! Stanley Chung set the tone with a gutsy comeback from 2-1 down to take the first rubber 3-2, before Henry Kross closed out the tie with a strong win at #3. 💪

On the girls' side, a tough Hong Kong, China outfit proved too strong, taking the tie 3-0.

Eyes now turn to tomorrow, where the boys face England for a place in the quarter-finals, and the girls take on Ireland knowing a win locks in their own quarter-final spot. 🙌

Our girls got their campaign off to the perfect start with a dominant 3-0 win over New Zealand, while the boys were challenged by a strong French side, going down 3-0.

Next up, the boys take on Mexico tomorrow with a place in the Round of 16 on the line, while the girls face a tough test against Hong Kong before a crucial clash with Ireland. 💪
